tai looks like OP went with ID ctx, can anyone testify for the xs65? What is the biggest difference? I'm looking to run aftermarket speakers in only the front, keep the rear stock.

mrmondaynight The morels are a hell of a set at that price range. The id ctx are a bit better in the midrange and have a smoother tweet.

The cxs, though is 100x the set the ctx is. You gotta remember that the front stage plays 99% of the frequency range, so don't skimp there.

Oh, don't remove the Morels from your wish list just yet. I'm personally weary of them because I do not like the way the tweeter mounts, and.. darn right tweeter blew out on me

The Tempo 6 speakers are a good set. I'm not qualified to describe speakers, but here I go. The tweeter was never too harsh for me, and the woofer had a very pronounceable punchyness (typical characteristic of an aluminum woofer)

At first I was running them with 50 watts, but I felt like it was lacking for me. I bridged my 4-channel amp to run 150 watts and that really opened the Morels up, particularly the midrange/bass. For comparison my current CDT comps are running on the same amp, but not bridged (running active this time). With "only" 50 watts my CDTs midbass does not seem to be as severely affected as the Morels.

Neither on that list will get "plenty loud". If you want loud, beef up your budget and power.

From that list, i'd go with the image dynamics ctx.
Yea.. I'm thinkin the ctx' as well.. i've had infinity references, cdt's, rainbows and bostons all before and currently have polks.. i think im just wanting to try a different brand again

As mrmondaynight said, those Infinity tweeters may be a little excessive for some. At least in my experience, I've never been able to stand Kappa tweeters - too harsh.

I'm leaning towards the polk mm's or the image dynamic ctx65cs' but I will look further into the kappa perfects. Maybe I'll try to listen to them somewhere. Thanks for your input!

j-accord So far I see 2 votes for other components. Can you guys please post which other ones you are referring to and what makes you consider them over the ones I posted. I would greatly appreciate it

Spkr Upgrade: Polk MM6501, Infinity Kappa Perfect6.1, ArcAudio FD6000, ID CTX65CS etc

Polk MM6501

Infinity Kappa Perfect 6.1

Arc Audio FD6000

Image Dynamics CTX 65cs

Diamond Audio D662s

Morel Tempo 6

Rainbow SLC 265

I'm currently running Polk db6501's for my front components. I will be feeding them 100w rms. Looking for nice overall SQ, more midrange and midbass then my Polk db's and can get plenty loud in my daily driver. Will be using stock locations, no kick panels. Budgets up to $250-275. and I will not be doing any competing. Any thoughts??? Any other suggestions maybe??
