+1 on that. I used to sell for Verizon and I would see many phones come back from the dead doing that. I have a piece of equipment that hooks up to me that is supposed to help with the pain and I droped it in the toilet and it stopped working, a couple days in a bag of rice on my cable box and it was good as new.

: get the number given to you on the key set (the number/barcode) when you first purchase your car. The dealer should be able to make a copy of your key.

If Google is correct, 3450 rm = 1140 USD... which seems very excessive for one or two new keys. However, not living anywhere near you it's hard to judge what is a "fair cost" for the local area... but that does seem ridiculous...

Are there other Honda dealers near you?

Hye, Iím a new member hereÖ Iíve big prob right now.. Iíve lost both of my car keys.. Iíve tow my car to Honda service centre to keep safe of the car.. and the replacement cost is around rm3450.. I donít know, can I get other solution to replace it that maybe a bit cheaper compare to the original set by honda.. you know guys.. raya is just around the corner.. some more.. my road tax gonna expired by this end of jun.. it will cost me around 3k++.. owhhh please guys.. help me.. accord latest model.. 2010.. plsÖ

Key

Okay so my remote works and my key works, but the casign around that tiny screw broke and the casing won't stay together. I have it held together with rubber bands at the moment. I looked on the honda estore to see if I could get just the front and back cover of the keyless remote but couldn't find them.

Help am I missing something can I not by just these pieces?

dave118811 I went swimming with my keys, cell phone, and wallet for a good 15 minutes. Key somehow still worked! Unfortunately can't say the same for my cell phone.

Uh, I hope you were joking? (didn't see the )

Just put it near a sunny window for an hour or so, dryer heat maybe too much, plus all the potential for static electricity isn't good for electronics.

BeaufordBuddy Okay, I managed to pry open the back cover of the fob (the part with the Honda "H" logo). I had to cut away at some of the plastic in order to take it off. I don't understand why this screw is on so damn tight. Does this thing have to be torque down or something damn? I look in the Honda eStore for a replacement part and I can't just order that one back over. It costs $3.43 and the screw itself costs $1.75 (wow!). I'll call the local Honda dealership tomorrow and have them order those two things. Oh and there doesn't seem to be any apparent water damage to the internal keyless entry mechanism. I thought that under the fob cover there would be exposed circuitry but there is a separate piece that holds the battery and is sealed to prevent water from entering. Pretty nifty. Just another testament of great Honda ingenuity. Thanks everyone. I'm glad I managed to work this out. I didn't want to end up paying $100+ for a replacement key.
