Anyone else's windshield wipers streaky?

So some history: About a week after I bought the car I noticed a scratch on my windshield in an arc that follows the windshield wiper. I brought it into the dealer where I bought it and they agreed to buff out the scratch even though it was probably caused by a rock that got stuck under the wiper blade....anyways I also showed them an issue with my wipers. When spraying the windshield or wiping rain I get streaks of water going across my window...almost like you get when the blades are very old. These streaks seems to be on the top 1/3 and the bottom 1/3 of the driver wiper and less so on the passenger wiper.

When I mentioned it and showed the dealer they gave me new wiper blades, however with the new blades I have the exact same problem...which makes me wonder if they even swapped the blades.

Anyone have issues like this?

Also, my second issue has to do with aiming on the windshield fluid sprayer. On the passenger side it's aimed so a bunch of spray goes on the top right corner of the windshield where the wiper doesn't hit. Then it dries there and leaves water spots.

Is this normal or are mind just not properly aimed?

Thanks!

My wipers **** quite frankly. They leave a big streaky area right in my field of vision. I don't know why, but pretty much every Honda I've owned has crappy wipers. My last car ('11 Sonata) was superb in this regard. There wasn't a streak to be found when the wipers moved across the windshield.

This. Mine is streaky as well. Kind of odd the passenger wiper goes all the way to the driver side and leaves a streak there.

I've noticed some streakiness on ours too. Our '03 Accord wipers work perfectly (assuming the blades are still within spec) as do those on my TL. It's almost as if there is some substance (prep cleaner?) on the windshield.

Does the water bead when it hits the windshield?
If not, buy aquapel from eBay. It worth it, trust me. Lasts longer than rainx

Yeah, I don't think that's my issue. I applied 2 coats of the blackfire crystal seal and yeah I think for the most part it does bead...hard to say cause I'm usually moving. I think it's just wipers that don't stay tight to the windshield.

Good to know others think they are horrible.....wonder if I should just aftermarket blades.

Yep, same problem. I had my dealer send me some new inserts and no better. My 2003 Accord and 2008 CRV wipers work impecably so I am disappointed how bad the 2013's are (I always buy Honda inserts). I'm heading to see my dealer next week for a bunch of warranty, TSB, and update work, so I might have them try new blades as I don't think it is the inserts that are the problem. There was another thread on here about this issue a couple months ago and I think at least one poster got total new blades and that worked. Glen E also mentioned having the windshield buffed out with polishing compound (?)...don't know if anyone has tried that or not?

Did you actually get new BLADES, or just the INSERTS?

Good question. I don't know....maybe I'll call and ask what they did. Didn't realize there were two choices...I always just replace the whole blade.

Same here with steaks. When I was having the audio update done I told them about it. They didn't have new blades in stock so they took one off another 2013 on the lot. Did the same thing imo. I tried buffing with my random orbital then applying backfire seal and the problem persists. I think it's just a bad wiper design if others are having the same problem. Mine usually steaks right in my line of sight.

No streaks here. I drove a 1300 mile roundtrip last week. I hit rain more than halfway there and all the way back and the wipers worked better than any car I've ever owned sans one.

Lol damn autocorrect.

Yes mine seem to "move" around but normally the streaks are right in my line of sight. Today tho it was at the top of driver side.
