Accord's Illuminated Door Sill Trim

Does anybody have or seen the Accord's Illuminated Door Sill Trim in the 2013 or other years? If so, how do they like them? Do they scratch easily? The College Hills Honda instructions don't look that hard to install.

While we are at it, the same questions for the Blue Interior Illumination.

I've installed (essentially the same ones for the 13' Accord) these illuminated door sills on the ILX a few times. It seems pretty durable, but the "metal" is like every other door sill, so scratches will occur. The plastic is nice and thick, so no real worries about them cracking. They're actually a pain to put in the ILX, thankfully the Accord looks easier. A BIG downside IMO... is that the only the front light up. The rear just have the logo. The light blue color is a nice touch though.

I saw a Mustang that had a Lighted door sill at a car show, the owner told me he applied packing tape on it to help protect against scratching-->

Does anyone who have these know how easy it would be to install red lights into the assembly to match the Sport Interior Illumination? I would like some but I don't want blue. My OCD would go nuts! I know there are red options aftermarket on Ebay, but I am also OCD for OEM accessories.

i think they look ballin on the hfp accord at my dealer. but it is in SNP.

so i dont think theyd look good on every color. especially our sports which have red accents.

that is why i just have the normal(non lighted) sill plates

Yes, if Honda made a red accented one I think it would look amazing. I would like them, but I might just have to do the non-illuminated ones Unless I can find a way to change the light to red.

I have them on my 2014 Coupe. The vinyl is to the front where your foot crosses, so that takes any scuffing. I have only had the car a month, but the sills are holding up well. The illumination really looks sharp at night.

I've got them on my '14 coupe and I think they look awesome especially at night. The minute someone gets in your car who drags their feet instead of lifting them over the door sills, your chrome will be scratched for sure.

Whoever has these- Can you confirm (if possible) that the blue is from the color of LED light, or are the ACCORD plastic letters blue?

Humm I might just have to attempt a change from the blue to the red Also the protective film sounds like a great idea!

I had mine installed by the dealer..I am sure there must be access to the lighting from the backside.

One caution if you place plastic over the stainless, the adhesive could discolor the metal. I considered that, however my brother who is a 3M manager cautioned against it.

I am not 100% sure of this, but I think they are not led. They look like el-glow. If that is the case, then you can't change the color.

I've had mine now for about 3-1/2mos now and they are holding up pretty good. I can see however how they would scratch if you scraped a shoe over them with any pressure. I'd expect they will see scratches eventually but I would expect a ding and/or dent on the body too in time.
