Alicat1#'s 8 month quest to find the car of her dreams

Considering buying either Accord Sport or TLX this weekend, TLX ~$3k more. Has anyone had any issues with the 2017 Accord Sport? Any recommendations on either car? The TLX has some potential transmission issues. On the Accord, I'm concerned it might be considered a granny car.

I too live my life concerned with what others think! So I went out and bought the best selling car in America- the Honda Accord. "Follow the herd", says I.

You need to test both of them. The TLX is obviously a more luxurious car than the Accord.

On the flip side of this, are you not mature enough for an Accord? Maybe you should look into a different brand, like a Hyundai Veloster or Kia Soul. Honda and Acura should still available 10 years from now.

I'm on the Accord side. The TLX is a nice vehicle, but not offered in a coupe nor does it have a 6 speed manual.

As other posters have mentioned, it comes down to what you want in your next car. For me:

Accord Sport = 6MT available
Acura TLX = 6MT NOT available

Accord Sport 6MT wins!

17 Accord Sport or Civic Sedan (EX)?

I need to buy a new car within the next 2 days; I'm looking at the 17 Accord Sport and 17 Civic Sedan (EX), but can't decide! It will be mostly me in the car without any passengers. The Accord seems large for a single person and a little masculine for a female, but I do like the quality of the interior and the height of the car (seats aren't too low). I like the exterior, size, and gas mileage of the Civic, but the car feels way too low and seats are uncomfortable (also doesn't feel quite as safe). Any thoughts/suggestions?

I'd say get the Civic. You don't want to drive a "granny car" do you?

Plus, you won't have to deal with the high cost of replacing the 19" tires

or the not very smooth ride, or the loudness and vibrations when idling at a stop sign.

How about split the difference and get an Accord Coupe? The V6 version especially removes all hints of harshness the I4 may present.

Ha ha ha, weren't you buying an Accord "in the next two days" about 5 months ago? But you said it was for grandmas...and you seem overly concerned what others will think of you based on your car. Are you now a grandma?
