I tried to purchase a 2014 couple on Saturday (July 1st) at a local dealer and they wouldn't sell it to me due a stop sale on 2013 - 2016 Accords that they had received the day prior for this issue. I can't post a picture of the printout since I just registered but here is what it says:
A MESSAGE FROM HONDA …
Today, June 30, 2017, American Honda is announcing a STOP SALE and Safety Recall for certain 2013-16 Accord vehicles to address potential corrosion in the battery management sensor, possibly leading to smoke and/or fire in the engine bay. The case on the original battery sensor installed in certain vehicles may have been improperly manufactured with gaps that allow moisture intrusion. If moisture containing conductive substances (such as road salt) enters the battery sensor, it could cause an electrical short and consequently, a fire. Due to the constant power source at the sensor, resistance, heat, smoke, and/or fire can occur in any ignition switch position.
2013-16 Accord (all except Hybrid) (HAM and Sss produced)
Affected dates: Start of production – 12/22/2016
This campaign will be launched in three phases due to material and part availability. The first phase begins with a stop sale tomorrow, details to follow.
Since parts or materials are not currently available for order, service bulletin 17-057: Stop Sale/Safety Recall: 2013- 16 Accord Battery Management Sensor will be posted to the Service Information System (SIS) as a placeholder on Friday June 30, 2017. During the week of July 11,2017, the bulletin will be updated with the temporary remedy information. The bulletin will then contain warranty, parts, inspection, and repair information.
