TSB 15-055-Electronic Power Steering Software Update

Has anyone had TSB 15-055 done on their '13 Accord to update the electronic power steering software?

Out of curiosity, do you happen to know any more details about this TSB? 2013 owner here too...symptoms and trims/VIN range affected would be great!

What issue does it address and what are the intended results?

The software update applies to all '13 Accords and I assume addresses possible glitches in the EPS.

I have.

I took my 2013 Accord EX in today for routine service and was informed by the Service Manager of this recall. I presume it relates to reports of sudden loss of power steering by numerous drivers. There is an open investigation by the NHTSA over this. The following site explains what the software update does.

Does this get rid of that annoying sound that sounds like a clock/clicking noise?

I didn't hear about this recall until i dropped my car into service today. I thought it was the CVT issue when he mentioned it. I'll report back later today

At first i thought there was something wrong with the car. Its just the steering wheel locking and unlocking when the car is on and off.

I think he's talking about the cable reel / clock spring noise that so many people have experienced. It causes a clicking sound when turning e steering wheel.

There is a separate TSB for this. The recall posted only involved software for the EPS system and has nothing to do with any noise from the steering wheel itself.

Yeah, I'm talking about the noise when turning the steering wheel while parking.

But TSBs and recalls are different. Recalls are from NHTSA and TSBs are minor repairs that the manufacturers issue for smaller issues.

I just had the 055 and 056 TSB completed on my accord and i had 46k miles on it. The 055 is to change the way the car behaves when the EPS light activates. It allows for some more movement then before when the Electronic system goes into safe mode basically just limiting the assist. The 056 I had done involved replacing the complete Electronic Power Steering Gearbox assembly. I only had these done because I kept having the EPS light go on every few days and could hardly steer the car. This is the only way they will perform these TSBs if it appears in the DTS history. Honda also extended the warranty on the EPS to 5 years unlimited miles.

So if I never had the EPS light go on, there's no point in getting it done?

My dealership did this for my last week when I had my car in there for a power lock problem. I wasn't even aware of the recall.
