Color matched splash/mud guards

Hello all, I am relatively new to the forum and it has been very helpful so thanks to all you for your pics and experiences. I purchased my 3rd Honda Accord just recently, 2015 Accord Sport, and been reading the forums for doing small mods. I decided to get the Honda splash guards online, and got them painted to color match at a local auto body store for $100. I am VERY happy with the end result. I love how it blends into the car and doesnt really look like an added on accessory. For those of you thinking to do it, DO IT! Well worth the extra money. I was going to get the collegehillshonda painted ones but they were super expensive and also looked to be a different style. I cant post pics on here but here is a link to see how mine turned out.

Yours came out great.

I have a 14 EX-L V6, in MSM also. Just dropped off my splash guards for painting today. Just a classier look when you color match the car.

hmm, that does look better for sure. Can they paint them like that if they're already installed?

Yes, but my guess is they would probably charge you more to paint them on the car.

Since they are easy enough to take on and off, I'd recommend taking them off and having them painted.

Shop near me is charging me $120 for the four, includes sanding, prime, paint and clear coat.

Five minuets with a Phillips head screw driver to remove all four.

I like the look, but I also like the black/white contrast I have.

I think the black looks good on the white paint. If my car was white I would have kept them stock for sure.

Welcome to the forum. My personal opinion is that the stock black ones look best because of the contrast as long as your car is not black.
My San Marino Red Coupe sets off the black splash guards.

Is it better to mount and unmount them before painting? Are there holes that are made in the guards while mounting or only in the car? If holes need to be made I would be less likely to scratch them after painting if the hole was already there.

The holes are on the side facing the tire. I would recommend leaving that side unpainted, as debris could be kicked back by the tires that could chip the paint.

They dont look odd. There is am member here who color matched white and I thought it looked good. But it dep BDs on the look you're after.
