FCW/LDW camera "hot" warning

Any one else having issues with the camera on top of the windshield? Living in constant 100 degree, it says camera hot upon starting or being parked in the sun. Stopped using the custom fit reflective sun shield (car manual recommends against the use of these shades) but it still does it.

Mine did this a few days ago. The car was sitting in the sun on my black top driveway. It was aboot 30deg out. When I got in the warning was there. I just parked in the shade for a couple minutes and it went away.

Why would the sunshade have any affect on the camera when the vehicle is parked ? I too have a custom fit sunshade and use it to keep the vehicle cooler when parked - for if anything if the interior remains cooler it should improve the functioning of the camera when moving.

I was jokingly commenting on the spelling of aboot not the 30deg. I did realize that the OP was Canadian from the info in their sig in the corner.

Ummmmm thanks so very much for pointing it out though.

The intonation and pronounciation of the word ABOUT is sometimes pronounced ABOOT but it is still written as ABOUT.

As too christophoclese, if I offended you accept my apology.

According to the owner's manual this may occur when parking the car in the heat. Driving the car with the AC on for a few minutes should cool off the cameras. It only happened to me when the temperature was around 100 degrees. I try to park the car facing East rather than West to keep the windshield away from the afternoon sun. This happened once last summer so I started parking the car facing the other way and the overheat warning did not occur again. The windshield sunshade has a cutout around the camera area so that heat is not reflected onto the back of the cameras.

I thought the Brits added the extra 'u'. WTF, eh?

PS: Do people really say 'eh' or is that just in the movies? Like The Great White North?
