Floor mat clips, how to remove ?

Anybody know how to remove the front drivers side floor mat clips from the 2013 Accord ? Seems to be held down with more than a pop in clip. I don't want to break it.

In the 2014 you turn the clip to unlock then pull straight up.

You probably figured it out already. But I just checked mine again. Turn them so they are perpendicular to the door. Then pull up on the mat, not on the clip (as the clip is attached to the floor).

Hahaha omg,..yes I know how to remove the mat from the clip...I want to remove the clip from the floor so I can shampoo underneath. Lots of dirt and salt around and underneath the clip. My original question seems pretty clear ??? Is it me ???

In my 2005 Accord the clips have a square plastic head that fits into a metal square hole just under the seat. To remove I pulled up while pulling out (away from the seat) and they came out. I'm not sure if the newer models work the same way.

Just use a 50/50 white vinegar and water mix, works awesome. I already got all the salt out, just can't get under the mat clips.

Oh, you meant the clips themselves.

It did seem like a strange question. I should learn to read better.

Party on.

I'm still trying to figure out how to remove my gas tank so I can clean the inside of it.

That is dangerous. Why do you need to clean it? I've owned cars since 1978 and I have never removed a gas tank to clean the inside of it. It could ignite.

I think you need to turn your sarcasm detector up a little higher. LOL.

OP, I'm not understanding why you need to remove the clips to clean the carpet? Just clean around them best you can. The floor mats go right back over them anyway. Maybe some pics would be helpful so we can see what you are trying to do.
