Want to install interior UV/blacklight

So I've been trying to think of cool ways to spice things up in my car at night. No, not like that.

I want to try replacing that tiny blue LED that illuminates the shifter area with a blacklight, and find a glow-in-the-dark shift knob. It would also be cool for anybody wearing fluorescent items in the car. That little light doesn't really serve any purpose otherwise, so I can't think of any way this would be a bad idea, unless it presents a safety issue. Is the possible to do for cheap?

This just seemed like a more doable alternative to installing a glowing shifter

Well, you'll never actually get the "blacklight" effect without using a florescent bulb, so I'd have to say your idea is pretty much moot.

You can try using a "blacklight" LED, but all it consists of is a blacklight-looking purple light.

Well... yes? I just thought it would be cool. I have one of those cat-pee flashlights that you use for finding pee stains in your carpets, so I know the UV LEDs work just fine, so I thought if there was a way to retrofit that tiny little LED light up by the map light, I could just put one in and replace the shift knob to get the effect I want. Otherwise, I'd need to purchase a light up knob, which can get expensive

I did find this that says it is for Alfa romeo, but I wonder if it would still be OK.

Quit crushing my big dreams, guys. This is super important.
