Need Some Help With Amplifier Bass Boost Remotes

Hey guys. Many moons ago when I got my first car (1999 accord) the very first thing I had to do was rip out the stock stereo and speakers, replace them with aftermarket versions, and add a subwoofer with an amplifier. Long story short, after wrecking that car, everything was retrieved except for wired bass boost remote knob and the long cable that connected it to my amplifier in my trunk.

In my new 9th gen accord, I refused to alter the stock head unit in any way so I was forced to use a line output converter to connect my sub and amp into my 2 rear speakers. My only issue with this is my inability to control the subwoofer level without getting in my trunk and manually changing it on my amplifier. The only way to change the sub level is to fade music to the front speakers instead of the back, and that cuts heavily into overall sound quality.

So far I've ordered 2 different bass boost remote knobs and wasted $70 in the process trying to order one that fits.

I have a pioneer premier PRS-D1200SPL amp (probably a 2007 or 2008 model)

These are the bass boost remotes i've tried so far that haven't worked:
JBL GTO-RBC

and
Rockford Fosgate Punch PEQ

Both cords were too wide to fit into my amp (almost like trying to cram an ethernet cable into a phone jack.) The JBL cord was close to fitting, but the rockford cord was much too wide.

I've searched all over the internet, and the only way to get a new one made by pioneer is to order a whole new amp that comes with one, not gonna happen.

I guess my questions are:
a.) Does pioneer make some super special phone-jack-style cord that can't be found anywhere else?
b.) Could I just use a phone cord in place of the wire that came with the JBL bass boost remote? Would that be an issue since one is a 6-pin and the other is a 4-pin?

Anyone out there that knows a thing or two about this, I'm begging you for a word of advice. I'm going crazy wasting what little money I have as a poor college kid on parts for my car that don't work.

Thank you very much in advance!

remote and cord are sold here:

looks like a standard RJ-11 4-conductor phone cord. if one doesn't fit then just abandon using the bass knob for the amp. the price for that knob and cord is ridiculous. not the only reason i don't own Pioneer products, but a good example of a selfish business plan.

either sell the amp and get one that has a standard bass knob (RF amps are solid).

or buy decent LOC with a remote bass knob.

I vote for this option. In addition to a bass knob you will be getting some processing that should make the sub sound better overall.

Thank you guys!

And wow, I'm an idiot... 3 bass knobs later, I finally realized that my Line Output Converter has a plug in it for a bass control knob that isn't proprietary like the port on my pioneer amp. Looks like I'm using that!
