Exclamation 94 accord info/help

i got a 94 accord with stock motor which is the f22a? i bleve. im new into the whole honda tuner thing but i love my car. but anywayz the cv boot is ripped and the axle is catching and sticking when i drive. sounds horrible. but would just a cv boot kit fix this problem or will the whole axle need replaced.. i kinda figure that the whole axle needs replaced but for financial reasons im lookin at the boot kit.. and the person i bought the car from gave me very little info about the car.. how can i tell if it has abs or not. i thought it would have a wire running to the caliper but im unsure.. can any one help? even some honda info would be nice to better understand my car.

You should be able to look at the gauge cluster and if there is a light that says abs, then you have abs.

I would just replace the whole axle.

A new boot kit won't fix your problem, though I'm not sure what you mean by the 'axle' catching.A ripped CV allows dirt and grit to get into the CV Joint and over time it wrecks it.Does it click when you do a tight turn? The whole CV component will need to be replaced. Not a huge job,but certainly not for a novice. And no the 94 model doesn't have ABS,that came out with the CD6 (98) model.

Wrong. The 94 model did come with ABS. ABS was also included on 1992 and 1993 accord ex and se models. It might have only been on the 94 ex model, but I can guarantee you that the 98 model was not the first to have ABS. In addition, the 98 model is a CG6, not a CD6. 94-97 accords are referred to as a CD5. There was ABS included on Accords way before the 98 accord.

And how do you know it won't fix his problem, the CV boot and joint are part of the axle. You do not even understand the problem that this person is having with their car, or understand what you are talking about.

Do you see how the second photo is a part of the axle in the first photo?

I had a '94 LX 5 speed manual with ABS. Pretty rare but they did sell 'em.

I would think a dealer could tell you from the VIN whether it had ABS or not.

Might want to do some research before you start spreading incorrect information.

Still wrong. Replacing the boot might fix his problem, but it might not. Unless he replaces it then we will never know. Or he might need a new axle.

Confirming this as well. I also had a '94 LX 5 spd with ABS. Was called an LX-A.
