Is this seriously a blown head gasket?

Hey all,

I have a 96 Accord EX 4-cyl. It's had regular oil changes and now is at about 144k miles. About 4 months ago I replaced the got a timing belt/water pump kit installed and a brand-new radiator. It runs wonderfully, but was running lean.
Then suddenly I started getting this random hesitation between 2100 and 2300 rpm going about 20-30 mph. It didn't happen consistently.
Then the check engine light came on, with a System Too Lean code. My regular mechanic and a buddy mechanic couldn't diagnose the particular issue, so I took it to the Honda Dealership.
Wow, those guys are nice! Spent 3 hours on my car and didn't charge me a dime. However, they say the car failed a "Block Test" - and so concluded my head gasket must be blown.
I'm confused. I just got a new radiator and have been driving it - but I have had no coolant loss. There's no white smoke. The car starts strong. The thermostat gauge stays steady, even driving across the desert. WTF gives? Does anybody have any alternative suggestions? Does the "Block test" (which is a chemical test of fumes from the radiator, apparently) ever fail or give a misdiagnosis? Could it indicate anything else?

Go to an autoparts store and get the code read. Post the code back here and an expert will be able to help you diagnose the problem.

When I was having intermitent lean codes it turned out to be the fuel pressure regulator on a 99 I4. It was a little less than $100 to fix at the dealer.

For $23 you can get a Used Oil Analysis done to see if any coolant is getting into the oil. The free test kit takes awhile to arrive unless you tell them its urgent. Link:

Check your coolant and your oil. If your oil looks like a milkshake you seriously need to get the head gasket replaced.

I just had the oil changed yesterday morning. They didn't say anything about the old oil looking brown or frothy at all. How long might it take for the new oil to "froth" if that's the problem? And what if it's not? Does the Block test ever indicate something incorrectly?

To me doesn't sound like a blown head gasket . Check for bad sensors specially your O2 sensor .

A simple sensor can make the car run lean or run rough .

But that leaves me with the failed Block test. Why would the car fail the block test if it just had a bad sensor?
