Redline D4 ATF

Hi all, If just doing an preventive maintenance ATF drain and fill (4 cyl, ~3 qt.), would it be acceptable to use the Redline D4 ATF? The balance of the fluid would be Honda Z1 ATF. Will the fluids be compatible? My friend is due for the ATF change, but would prefer to not do the flsuh of 3 drain/re-fills.
(I searched but did not find this specific question/issue).

Thanks in advance for your assistance.

Yes they are compatible. If the ATF change history is unknown it would be best to do 3 drain and refills. If the Z1 is fairly fresh - changed in the last 20 or 30k - then one refill with D4 would probably suffice for now.
Valvoline Maxlife ATF also works very well and costs less. Thats what I use.

I have heard nothing but good things about Redline. I use Z1 because I live in the past, don't like the present and am scared of the future.

I recently bought an '02 Accord SE (4cyl) with 157,000 for my kid. Previous owner said she never had trany fluid changed. I did a 3x3 D&R with Redline ATF using the following: D&R#1 - 2 qts racing, 1 qt D4; D&R#2 2 qts racing, 1 qt D4; R&D#3 1 qt racing, 2 qts D4. Car now has 3000 miles on ATF change and there is a noticeable skip (higher rpm) between 2nd & 3rd. I saw somewhere a comment that mentioned using only the RL racing ATF can effect the lock-up(?) when shifting between gears, thus they recommended using 2 qts racing with 1 qt D4.
Given the poor maintenance prior, what risks do I run in damaging the trany if I leave the ATF as is? Is there possibly something else that needs cleaning or replacing like a solenoid?
