Engine Swap...

hey everybody...havent been on since whenever..lol...hows everybody doin? well lets get to the point shall we?? i havent been on because...well.."my baby is dead....but i will be doing an emergency transplant"...an engine costs around 800...long block mind you...the oil pump went out and a piston rod is bent and scraped up the cylinder....yeah i need a long block...but insted of getting another F23a1 i figured well hell i was goin to do the swap one day anyway so why not do it now?...thing is...anybody have any input on the ease of the swap relative to H22a vs H23? i kno most about both and the swap...both take slight mod...5-spd wont be added just yet...so which do you think would be a better fit for the car...with ease of swap only not better because of power.

h23 is only 160hp, (unless it's the h23a from the accord wagon SiR, then it's basically the same as the h22). Your f23 is 150hp. You're wasting money doing the h23 for 10 more hp. Get the h22 if you want more power.

Ease of swap will be pretty identical between the h23 and h22. Again, go with the h22.

love it...short sweet and to the point...but i was referring to the one in the accord wagon tho..and hell i cant even find a h22 engine only for less than 1000..im going for NA right now since im not paying for it...so the open block is fine...OBD2 but i want the JDM they say its tons cheaper

I don't know enough about the 0bd2 and obd1 conversions to help out. 6thgenaccord will be a better source.

back on topic...ahem...now...yeah well aside from the obd1 and obd2 then...what is the ease of installation...and does anyone know if theres any serious mods to be done...what ive heard mostly was all motor mounts are fine except the right one...

K series? umm prolly not..if its a direct bolt up then ill consider it..but other than that..this isnt really a project...its a direct swap.

If you aren't doing a manual swap and want to use your F series transmission, do a F20B swap. It's plug and play.

I wonder if he's referring to the F20B DOHC, not SOHC. F20B DOHC has a blue top, JDM only, and has 198 hp and 145tq.



Seen here, too.



F20b DOHC is not plug and play though. ??

Then get a H22a then! Good luck trying to run that motor on your automatic transmission!

Btw, the DOHC F20B is a good choice if you aren't planning to do a tranny manual swapped.
