Thumbs up 2000 EX-V6 Coupe- INSANE GAS MILEAGE

Hey dudes and chicks. So I just joined so HI EVERYONE!

- minimal A/C usage

- 90% highway driving

- never over 3000rpms

- 3 people+ luggage+gas= approximately 3,650lbs
-------------------------------------------------------
260miles on half tank= 30.6mpg

-filled at 3/4 at 420 miles= 32.9 mpg!

Is anyone else getting this kinda mileage? Or are my calculations totally off?

On a normal school week I get between 22- 27.

*Automatic transmission
*K/N airfilter element

Are you using the actual gallons pumped in for your mpg calculation, or are you guessing the gallons based on the location of the needle? I'm asking since you mention a "half tank" vs. gallons.

Yes, please tell us the equation you used when calculating your mpg. Not trying to call you out, I just want to make sure we're on the same page. Good job on you great mpg though.

good call. yes, I think I based it on the actual gallons pumped, I tried to fill it up before leaving for the Minnesota trip as close to 17 gallons as possible from what was left. I drove as long as i possibly could before filling up (prior to trip). I was literally out of gas and glided into the gas station with the engine conked out. I still have the receipt from that fill up. It was 16.802 gallons.

*BTW, I'm good at driving and am a very mild-moderate driver normally. Never do I drive like a grandpa. Save it for trips.

i have a 2001 accord 4cyl and i get 22 mpg in the city which i think is pretty food, but my math could be off 375 miles/ 17 gallon tank if that is correct = 22.09

( would seafoming the car give it better gas mileage???)
