Just hit 217,250!

I actually picked up a new 2017 this past weekend, but am keeping my 6th gen. Plan on driving it 1-2 days a week as long as it last and doesn't give me any issues.

323,000 miles is phenomenal! Congratulations, Paddy. I can see you really take care of your car. I had a '98 EX V6 that I loved. In 2015, at 108,000 miles, it was hit at the driver side center post (B-pillar) and the cost to repair this structural damage was about what the car was worth ($4000), so I sold it to the guy at the body shop to fix for his son to drive. Body shop guy said he liked the car because I had taken such good car of it.

v6?

I'd keep it.

Fixing the transmission is a one time cost of around $2200 +/- $400 if you take it into a shop to get it done. That same money can buy you another used car with someone else's problems whereas here, you know what the problems with this car are. If instead you spend more money on another car, you may or may not (IDK your financial situation and don't want to know it) be getting into car payments which you would probably be able to afford, but would rather not want to have. Also, with it barely being over 100k miles, the engine is barely broken in!! Mine has 307k!!!

Its a V6, the car has already been replaced with a 2017 Accord sport thanks to huge markdowns and knowing the 2018 is a turbo. I'm not going to bother trying to talk my mom into selling me the car at this point. I'll wait for some other project car.

You do know that the car has more potential in its future. You could've forked out the money to rebuild it or get a JDM one (not what they are asking), but however you should also bargain at other places so that you can get the lowest price possible. Also, did you went to the dealership to get the price estimate of $2200 + tax?

It was me that came up with the $2,200 price as that is the average cost of rebuild I've seen from various members here that have had their transmissions rebuilt. The stealerships have been known to charge $3,600 for a transmission swap. While they (stealerships) are the most expensive place to get the transmission redone from, they do seem to offer the best warranty on them, 3yr / 36,000mi whereas indy shops tend to offer 12mo / 12,000mi.

I just realized that after I posted it.... But true, at least certain stealerships gives the 3yr/36k warranty, whereas some just give the 12yr/12k warranty.
