Yes, I went from a full size pickup that got 17-18mpg when driving SLOW, to a nice big sedan that can be driven hard and still get 26mpg. If you want a fast car though, look somewhere else.

i'm pretty satisfied with it. sometimes, i wish it was manual but its too much hassle to change it. and if i do start to feel the car is under powered, i'll add some mods to increase the hp/torque. of course these will be nominal gains but its better than adding no power at all

Very, very happy. Wish I could have afforded the 6-6, but I am very happy with my 5MT.

Test-drove an AT first, as the dealership I first visited did not have an MT in stock. I said: "No Go!". A few weeks later, I found a dealership that had an MT in stock: "Ahhhh!!! That's more like it!, Order me one in San Marino Red!". The rest, as they say, is history: 4 years of love, and running...

0-60 in 7.9? Not bad...

REAL HONDAS HAVE 3 PEDALS ON THE FLOOR!!!

I came from a Vulcan Taurus...I wasn't looking for power, just better gas mileage. The i4 Accord feels spritely to me...light on it's feet. The Taurus had better low-end grunt, but the Accord is definitely faster when revved. I am very happy with my car As for rev hang, I've grown to like it. It took me a week or so to figure out how to drive smoothly with the rev hang (I have to drive slowly...but that saves gas too so win win for me). It doesn't affect my shifting on hard acceleration; I can still chirp the tires going into second. It's a smooth chirp, not abrupt.

I can afford virtually any car made...I don't need more than an I-4.....it's a family car anyway...no matter how much you mod it....


Save your money for a 3 yr old M3 if you want a power car

I've owned 8 Hondas since 1992, from accords to civics, a Ridgeline and crv, and my I4 auto coupe is the quickest of them all...maybe a tie with the Ridgeline, so yes I'm more than happy with mine.

I've owned and enjoyed 2004, 2006, and 2010 I4 auto Coupes. My next car wii be a 2013 I4 Coupe, probably automatic, although I'll drive one with the new CVT before I decide. I'll try the six speed manual too, maybe I've been shiftless long enough!

I have been driving since the late 60's (1960's) and I have driven Flat head in line 6's, Overhead valve In line 6's, Non synchro'd three on the tree, V8's and V6's over the years. The Honda 4 banger is a respectable engine which propels a heavy vehicle well enough to get you a speeding ticket in any state. It's perfect for the purpose it was designed for.

not really. the 21-22 mpg my ex i4 generates in suburbia traffic is too low for my tastes. albeit I am seeing tiny increases in mpg as the weather is getting warmer.

With the onset of summer blend fuel at the pumps, MPG tends to trend upward.

FWIW, since reducing the shift points to around 2500 RPM, my winter blend MPG has averaged about 28.

I'm looking - only the last two tanks - at 29 and 30...all 65% highway use.

Hope this continues..........not that I'm even close to complaining!

I've had my 2011 SE since last August, it has just a touch under 26K on it now. Trouble free, no repairs, no sqeaks or rattles so far.

I drive on dirt roads and very rough paved country goat trails often. I went with the I-4 for economy. My all city driving low is 26.4 mpg, my best interstate tank was 34 mpg. My best mixed driving tank was 33.4 mpg. I get 30/31 mpg driving country roads from 30 to 65 mph. Even running 70 mph all day I see 33 mpg.

I'm happy with it, the car can't jump out in traffic quickly, but so what? For the size of the car it gets good range. I've owned V8 american cars for years, the Accord is much better over all for daily 4 door transport. I don't miss the 15 mpg at all. It takes about $45 to go 500 miles in a comfortable car.

For a FWD the steering is nice, the car tracks well. The tires are wearing good, I'm getting some light cupping on the rear. Probably due to the 32 psi I've been running.

Do I sometimes wish my EX had 15-20lb-ft more torque? Yes!

Am I losing sleep over it? No!

Why? I'm averaging 30-35 mpg even with spirited driving.....something my 09 MDX can't come near even if it were idling on flatbed.

In the event that I did have a concern about having an underpowered Accord, Honda does offer a V6 model to remedy that concern. (read: additional 82 lb-ft torque)

But if it makes the OP feel any better, the four cylinder can more than hold its own versus the Camry and Altima four cylinder when it comes to performance.
