The links in post 3 contain kits that include both the insulator and the proper number of clips required for a packaged deal.

The insulator comes factory on V6 models only, just like the chrome door handles, hood dampeners, fogs, and an engine cover on all model years for the 8th gen.

Yes, I've already seen that. But I'll order the insulator locally from my Honda dealer and the kits that are posted are not Honda's but made by College Hill Honda. So, I'll have to order the clips individually and I trust you guys more than the Honda parts guy for getting those p/n and quantities. Thanks!

Again, it's standard on all 8th gen V6 models.

As for the part numbers, you could email CHH for them and get a large bulk of clips relatively cheap or even free maybe. Can't seem to find the actual number in the parts catalog right now.

Just to clarify your comment about the engine cover. The engine cover only came on the 2008 and 2009 v6 models. Honda stopped providing the engine cover after the 2009 model. My 2011 EXL v6 does NOT come with the engine cover.

Some 2008-2009 I4 had engine covers (like the EX, EX-L). Additionally, an I4 engine is not the same as a V6 engine; so they would be different covers. And like slacker74's post, not all 8th gen V6 had engine covers.

2 Questions

1) Since I have two accords (2011 V6), neither have engine covers. Seems fairly simple to install, but what does the cover do for me? Is it purely for cosmetics or does it provide some other advantage?

2) My Accords do have the Trunk Lid insulation. The material seems thin, hence not sure it is really providing much insulation. I'm curious if there is enough room between the trunk lid and insulation to add some additional material.

The insulator is that thin, just to cover up the holes on the trunk frame which provides little sound damping and more like aesthetic. You can add on real sound damping materials to seal all holes and have it covered up with the OEM insulator to achieve clean look.
