Engine modifications for horsepower

I searched the forum for a possible list of engine mods, but nothing showed up. Id like to get some accessories that boost the horsepower without spending loads of money. Does anybody have any ideas?....I looked at the K and N cold air intake and got mixed reviews. I would just like to know what you guys have been doing.

Depends what size motor you have.

V6 has jpipe, race pipe, ported intake runners, lightweight crank pulley, underdrive crank pulley, intake, exhaust, pre cat deletes ( not released yet ), throttle body spacer. All cost around 300+ minus the throttle body spacer, race pipe, and intake.

IMO, buy a V6 and everything is yours from factory. Me=244 hp. I don't even have an interest in a CAI or SRI and believe you me when I say speed *is* kinda a priority.

From the looks of his name, he does have a v6, but I could be wrong.

Unless you go all out and get all the mods available, you won't feel the "extra" HP. To me, I'm saving my money so I can eventually buy a faster car if I ever want it. As is, for now, it's plenty fast for me.

I have a hard time understanding hopping up a family sedan motor for an extra 15% more hp. Can you really feel that? $5-6K for a bit of oomph at 4500 rpm?....to each his own.....

Your car has 271 HP and is one of the quickest V6s you can get for the price, how many HP do you need?

I have gotten mine up to 140 on a lonely stretch of Interstate and still had some pedal left before I got out of it. My car is plenty fast for me.

These so called cold air intakes are a waste of money IMO and most test, the air moving thru the piping will be much hotter than your factory, unless it is under the engine, and that can be very dangerous (hydro lock) they work dont get me wrong but the best intake mod would be to change the restrictive piping and a high flow filter keep the factory air box, a tune (if they have them for our Hondas) syn fluids, plugs, same size but light weight wheels, exhaust, this is all minimal HP gains, but without spending ks you wont feel any seat HP, this is all a package if you want it you will need to do it all. But its your car do what you want, you will get a lot of advise here read up before you dump a lot of money on parts that offer you very little, also on the HP you lose 30% or more in the drive line.
