Help! Horn going off randomly
So my 2009 Honda Accord LX has been having an issue with the horn for around 1.5 years. Usually goes off (just sound, no lights) when starting the car during the winter (subzero temps) or after a heavy rainfall. Iíve even had to drive to work a few times with full alarm blaring (thankfully itís a short drive).
When the horn goes off it is a constant sound (as if I was honking at some one) rather than changing tones (which would be typical with alarm systems) and the lights do not flash. The horn also starts sounding not right after car is started, but when I press the button on the gear changer.
Been to the dealer about 3 times even left the car a couple days with them, but they can never replicate it and donít have any fix/recommendations. Iíve read around a bit and replaced the hood latch myself, but hasnít fixed the problem.
Really considering installing some sort of horn cutoff switch to at least kill the horn when it happens again.
Anyone have any advice about what to try next?
