HID vs Halogen for Fog Lights?

I was wondering which one would be better overall (functionality, looks, etc.) for fog lights? More than likely I will either get Retrosolutions 35w 3000k HIDs or Nokya Hyper Yellow 2500k bulbs. Let the discussion begin...

I'd go with the Nokya Hyper Yellows. Having HIDs in a reflector housing is just going to blind people with the high amount of glare, so stick with the Stage 1 Hyper Yellows and you'll be all good. Plus you're saving ~$100.

Just remember that yellow fogs are purely aesthetic and will not help you see any better. I went through the same dilemma when I was researching yellow fogs for my GTI. Many a google searches proved that yellow fogs are just for show.

This isn't true. Light with a shorter wavelength will disperse more easily in fog, thus light with longer wavelengths are more resistant to dispersion. Yellow light has a wavelength of about 577-597 nanometers; on the visible light spectrum, yellow has the third longest wavelength. The human eye is most sensitive to yellow and green light, so yellow light would offer better visibility in bad weather.

And yet you have 3000K HID's in your fog lights on a silver car... That's a little hypocritical don't you think? I honestly think silver looks fine with 3000K's.

That's what I'll be doing with a kit from Todd with the bulb cap to minimize as much glare as possible.

Exactly, yellow fogs may not help YOU see better, but in fog it will help other drivers see you. Just because you google search and read something on the internet doesn't mean its true.
