J2 Engineering Exhaust Review

Alright guys. I wanted to make this thread to let you guys know that I installed a J2 Engineering Full cat-back exhaust, on my 2008 Honda Accord Sedan I4. But for those of you that are looking to get an exhaust from J2 engineering, and are worried about how it sounds and how well it bolts up. So I made a youtube video of how it sounds, along with how it drives for every day things. It bolts up directly to the stock down-pipe and end links without any issues. And it won't take you more than 2 hours to do the job right. Ok here's a link to the video.

Link to the website that sells the exhaust:

P.S.: Sorry about all of the rattling you'll hear during one section of the review. My mount kept hitting the front windshield and I didn't even realize it.

It sounds good! I hate the bumblebee noise that a lot of Honda exhausts have. This doesn't have it.

I notice in your notes that you have a "heat wrapped Injen Short Ram Intake with a heatshield on it". Any pictures of that setup? Does the intake have a problem in hot weather with getting heat-soaked, after the heat wrap and the shield?

It does have a small problem with heat soaking in hotter weather, but only without the heatshield. With the gold heat wrap, and heat shield on it, I was able to eliminate that issue. Unfortunately I do not have a picture, but I will go an take a pic of it asap for you. Sorry I took so long to respond. I haven't been on here in a while.

2.25" diameter is a downgrade for your trim level which was 2.5"

LX and LX-P is 2.25". EX and EX-L, and all coupe trims are 2.5" to support the 7100 RPM redline bump (vs. 6800 in the LX and LX-P). V6 is probably 2.5" main and then splits to like 1.5" or something at the axle....dunno.

I've been looking for someone with an EX muffler for a cheap 2.5" bolt on upgrade (well...weld on).

Yeah I realized that. At first I only guessed that it was 2.25 inch piping, but then I realized that it's actually 2.5 inch piping instead. So there wasn't really any downgrade to it. But I think a stock EXCHANGE one goes for around $300, because I paid $350 for mine with shipping.

At least that's what I measured. Plus either way, my OEM one was actually 2.25 anyway. Only the V6 comes with 2.5, from what I remember.

my 08 LX-S coupe was 2.25 piping stock. (measured it when i was first thinking of doing an exhaust) Jay1 has a 6-6 coupe and has 2.25 inch piping also. hes going to upgrade to 2.5 ... not sure if diff states/years had diff piping sizes. but i do know you have 3 inch piping since you were a ktuner tester (as was i for NJ =P )

there is no 2.5 inch exhaust piping on the accords. its 2.25 inch piping.

i have a v6 6 speed coupe and its 2.25 inch main and splits to 2 inch piping after the y pipe

i literally just measured the diameter of my resonator that i cut out from my OEM piping on my v6 6 speed coupe. its 2.25 inches...

Hum.....I swear it was a College Hills Honda Video where the guy answered the "what is the difference between the 190 HP and 177 HP I4" and the guy said higher redline and freer flowing exhaust. Trying to dig it up...

Can't find the video (looks like CHH removed a lot of them?)

Says freer flowing muffler. OK so maybe they all are 2.25". Woops

We'll I only the I4, so I'm not sure. I guess they all came with the same piping.

That is so true. But once you open them up, they're monster on the road.

word. idk if ur tuned and idk if u have a downpipe/high flow cat. but i suggest you do both of those next to really wake up the k24 motor. not the fastest thing out there (with our heavy accords. civics etc diff story) but it def helps our cars move. dont expect a race car. unless you put a custom LSD and turbo etc lol

I do have the downpipe, but I took it out because I have emissions coming up in march. Plus I'll have KTuner by then. So I'm gonna do both of those at the same time, after I get my emissions done. How big was the difference when you did both of those?

well mikey didnt get a custom tune yet, so dont listen to him! lmao jk (hes my friend).

but i had the same mods as him in my 08 lx sedan and i had custom tune (not the base reflash that comes with ktuner, it doesnt do anything) and it made my car MUCH faster and powerful and more fun to drive. i HIGHLYY recommend getting every bolt on and then get a custom tune and you would LOVE your car much more
