I somehow managed to completely lose focus and backed mine into my own fence post after washing and waxing it in the back yard, putting a good half-inch gouge in the paint of the rear bumper... sigh.

Picked up my '12 Accord on Monday evening, and quickly realized that I wanted bluetooth audio. Almost all the bluetooth-to-aux solutions have a microphone for hands-free calling-- a feature I don't want or need. (I probably take 5 calls a year while driving.)

After many searches on these forums and amazon, I came across this thing:

Dirt cheap, no microphone, and most importantly, no power button to push when you get in the car. It draws power from the USB port. Turns on with the ignition, turns off with the ignition. So far, my phone (LG Nexus 5) remembers the pairing, and simply connects when I get in the car and turn the key.

Its utter cheapness is an asset. Zero features. Just connects through bluetooth and pushes audio through the aux port. The whole tiny setup is neatly hidden away in the center console-- (and I'm thinking I could use some cable ties to neaten it even more.)

All I did was appreciate it, for racking up 98k miles with NO trouble other than routine stuff; for being plenty fast and powerful; for carrying me reliably through heavy city traffic and long interstate road trips and for being a high quality piece of transportation.

Did all 4 corners of brake pads myself this weekend on my 08' EX-L sedan, finally swapping the stock pads for Duralast Gold CMAX pads. Stock pads were only halfway gone, but they were starting to squeak. Rotors looked fairly good for 65k, didn't even need to cut them, just gave it a light sanding. Stopping is greatly improved. Satisfaction of doing this myself is priceless!

I'm in the middle of my October-fluid-change schedule. I like to do all my major maintenance in October, it gets the car ready before winter and the weather is nice to be outside tinkering. I changed out the power steering and brake fluid yesterday. Will be doing oil and MT fluid this weekend. Probably won't touch coolant for now. Fun stuff.

Hey man how is that holding up so far? My sedan is the SE so mine didnt come with bluetooth so this would be a steal.

Still no complaints!

As with all these aux port solutions, volume can get a little weird at times-- too loud or too soft depending on the audio I'm playing.

Also, I listen almost exclusively to podcasts and streaming radio and other spoken content, where audio fidelity probably isn't as big a deal as it would be for music. I HAVE noticed hot S's and a little bit of high-end crackle.

But, you know, ten bucks. I really love the seamlessness in terms of power-on/off and bluetooth pairing. Totally worth a shot, IMO.

What did you do to your 8th Gen today?

Today, I got my noisy, elderly serpentine (drive?) belt and tensioner replaced. Officially that is the last of the things that the dealer I bought the car from SHOULD have done before selling it. Unless you count the VTC actuator which I'm not counting and don't want to talk about.
Yesterday, I got my Weapon R I throttle working properly and I am ecstatic at how well it works in this car. I had a similar product in my 08 Fit and it was great in that thing as well. It has completely cured the cars inability to climb the mountain near my house without the pedal buried in the carpet. I hard wired mine to the CLA and mounted it in the useless little pocket next to the CLA at the head of the center console. I read through about thirty pages of threads about the I throttle and most of the issues seem to stem from using the cheesy OBDII port power source they supply, so I think I'm solid gold. That's my story for today, lets hear yours....

Removed rear deck for re-tinting back glass tom. morning. Wow! that C-pillar was a pain until I figure out that you can just slide the panel off the green connector.

Plastidip the wheels black, 4 coats with 2 coats of glossifier.
Cleaned the rust off the lug nuts, wheel locks and any screw I could find.
Cleaned brake pads and rotors.
Lubed slide pins and replaced the dust cover for each pin.
Painted calipers with high heat resistant paint.
Bled brake lines.
Rotated tires.
Installed splash guards.

Fun weekend lol

Sounds productive. Got my new to me Crosstour cluster unpacked and disassembled. Going to figure out a permanent way to black out the gear indication before i install it.

For Fathers Day morning, I treated myself to a fast run on an 8-lane, curvy freeway with little to no traffic. I had spent some money & effort on suspension mods which flattens out this 8 gen sedan like a pancake, so I powered it through some lovely curves & sweepers which swole up my n__s nice!
