nokya v. sylvania v. philips

Hey guys I was wondering what brand headlight bulbs you would recommend for our cars. I really want the prius HID look *white**. I was researching a lot about HIR but decided against it cuz I rather have color than increased output and such.

The main thing I'm worried about with aftermarket bulbs is how long they last. I heard sylvania was good but burn out in like less than a year. I was really looking towards the philips crystal vision ultra but I dunno. so let me know your thoughts and opinions thanks!!

*retrofit isn't in the budget
* i dont even want to talk about HID in reflector problem...

I wouldn't bother with any of those bulbs that gives off white/blue light that has paint on the bulb. They probably give off less lumens than stock bulbs. They also burn out very fast compared to stock bulb. Best bet might be the OSRAM SYLVANIA extended life or something like that. My Sylvania Silver Star Ultra died after 5-6months within the same week. I think it's either HID or stay stock and save yourself some money. There was barely any difference between my 5yr old stock bulb and brand new Silver Star Ultra. I thought it was gona be a little blue since it had blue paint on the tip of the bulb but the light was just whiter than stock bulb with no blue at all. I bought it before reading up on those kinds of bulbs and how they actually put out less lumens and don't last anywhere as long as stock bulbs.

On my girlfriend's Lancer Ralliart we had the GE stock bulb and it was white yellowish and the output was ok....I decided to change it for:

-MTEC 4750K Cosmo blue......nice "HID" look but output was a little less than stock...burned during winter.

-MTEC 4350K super white......Whiter than stock but output was almost same as stock....blew up during a front impact...

-PIAA Xtreme White Plus 4000K......Paid 100$ and output was only no more than 10% better than stock...not worth the high price...burned after 1 winter

-Phillips CrystalVision Ultra......Bought it from Costco for 30$ and output is almost same as PIAA and after 2 hard winter it still work well...
