2008 acura tl type-s vs. honda accord coupe?

I'm getting real close to purchasing a new car and wanted to see what you guys thought. I have test driven the coupe and have had it at the top of my list for a while. Then I started to look around a little more. If anyone has owned/driven a tl type-s, I would appreciate your input on the car. It will come down to me driving one when I find one in my area, but I was just curious with others thoughts. Thanks

You just broke my heart having said that!!

I was with the same dillema, once I saw my buddys TSX. Then I looked into TL n m like DayUmMmMmmM!! But u know for me looks play a HUGE role and obviously how its driven the smoothness of drive. Accord is spacious, TL isnt that much a looker compared 2 accord n if u MOD it then its HOT!! To each its own, but u would be paying MUCH MORE for TL, just question yourself if its worth it? Lookwise accord, mileage prolly accord, drive its a bit even steven there. But, take a test drive and see how it goes

What price has been quoted to you for Accord?

I prefer the styling of the 08' TL-S over the current Accord any day, but that's just me.

Although I'm not big on the TL-S rims........

TL has been my favorite car since 99, its even in my screen name with the exception of the current gen TL

I"m actually in this exact same position---

2008 Certified Used TL?

or

2009 Accord Coupe

First of all if a Type S was anywhere near the price range of the Accord I think it would be a no brainer, and I'd be doin the TL.

Also if you want navigation they're pretty much impossible to find.

But the Type S at least down here with low mileage is still in the 32k+ range

I'm getting an Accord Coupe ex v6 automatic, navi, WITH leather for 28k out the door...

A TL-S with navi one year old with about 20k miles ASSUMING you could find it would be some where in the neighborhood of 35k.

Now if you're looking at NON Type S models, you're making a better comparision.

Something about a brand new zero mileage car knowing that its never been abused etc... means something to me.

Not to mention that the TL is only a year or so into its model life, its still relatively new and will stay that way for af ew more years.

The New generation TL is already out, and i know its not a big deal to some of you, but I kinda like having the latest shit out there.

TL's already look dated. (granted the new TL's are sinfully ugly) but yea...

I would get the TL-S, but get ready for torque-steer up the arse. I had an 02-S and loved it. I was thinking about getting a TL-S for a while, but I've had a couple used cars, and decided I'd save some money while still getting a brand new car.

Love the last gen TL-S though. Probably my favorite, but the stock 17's have to be replaced with at least 18's within the first week of ownership.

The tl-s has an LSD that limits torque steer pretty well I think...

I am in the same boat as you. I have loved the TL ever since it has been made. Not a huge fan of this gen's model, but I love the 06-08 TL-S. And when I graduate this year from college, I am looking to buy a car. At first I wanted a TW 6-6 Accord Coupe. But I absolutely love the White TL-S. I have seen a few on autotrader for around 32k with about 15k miles with navi I believe. I still have some time to look, but this is a very tough decision. I am afraid how well the car would be taken care of if I bought used. And also the Acura is about 4-6k more plus the issue of premium gas. But it's beauty is absolutely amazing.

Just compare. Tl has everything the accord has plus the following:

LSD, ELS 5.1 DVD-A Sound system (must buy a dvd-a disk to appreciate the sound), usually better service, better seats, bi-xenon headlamps, navi has xm-traffic, and last but not least it looks awesome.

My mom had 06 tl till i got my car... I loved hers. But i should because i pick all her cars for her...lol.

That being said, you wont go wrong with either car but you'll get a lot more for the money in 08 tl-s.
