I only run synthetic oil. It my opinion it's better for the engine which will make the car run longer. How many miles are on the car? When it comes to the '10 I think it calls for 5w-20. That means you have the option to run Castrol or Mobil1. The '11 calls for 0w-20 meaning you can only run Mobil 1.

In 0W20 there is also Torco, Eneos, Amsoil, Honda, Valvoline, Pennzoil Platinum, and Toyota oil among others. 5W20 can always be substituted.

Just did my second oil change with Mobile 1 synthetic (5w-20) and filter. Got 5 quarts and filter on sale for $25 at advanced. Awesome deal considering 1 quart usually runs about 8 bucks and the filter around 12. Anyways I will continue using synthetic for the rest of the time I own my vehicle. Canít tell you the car runs any different for sure but I feel like it is a little smoother when getting up into higher rpms. It used to have a little of a stutter thatís gone now after using synthetic, but that could be all coincidence.

Of course you can run other brands. I wrote that you could only run Mobil1 versus Casterol...

FYI... walmarts (atleast around me, OHIO) sell the 5qt jug for 23-25 and filter is about 3-4. Same price everyday, full synthetic oil change for under 30 bucks. Beats trying to look for deals...

It's Castrol and I don't know what you mean, sorry. You can only run Mobil1 versus Castrol? Would you mind explaining because I don't understand that......I'm old and stupid.

Castrol Edge with Syntec and Castrol Edge with Titanium both come in 0W-20, as do Quaker State Ultimate Durability, and Red Line in addition to all the ones mentioned earlier.

I guess it all depends on how long you plan to keep the vehicle.

I know of individuals who used regular 'ol dino (including the bulk oil) from dealerships and have driven over 200K miles. I also know of those who used synthetics and put the same amount of miles on their vehicles.

Are you really going to drive your vehicle for that long because most people don't.

I'm going through the same process now with my '11 Accord. I can get 0W-20 bulk oil change from the dealer for $30. Or I can change the oil myself and buy synthetic for a little more.

0W20 IS synthetic which I doubt you are getting for $30. More likely 5W20 dino for that price.

My first oil change was on Mobil1 0W-20 and a Honda A02 filter. The car runs just the same as it did on the break in oil to be honest. It will probably be better for the engine in the long run, but as of now I haven't noticed any differences in the operation of my engine. And yeah like RTexasF said, 0W-20 is all fully synthetic. I don't think there's a non-synth blend out yet. I purchased 5 quarts of mine for about $45ish from Walmart.

Does anybody run into issues with oil evaporation? I usually put in 5qts in a '10 V6 and sometimes get 2.5 out when I change it...
