AISIN DW-1 fluid for Honda & Acura

I found out that RockAuto sells Aisin DW-1 ATF. Price + shipping comes out at $24.

Anyone know who makes the DW-1 for Honda? Since Aisin makes many OEM parts for different manufacturers, is it possible that this is the same fluid as OEM DW-1?

I might bite...

There was just a thread on this where someone was asking if it was OK to use - usual responses. Claims to be same as OEM, cheap on RA ($4.48 qt.), up to $20 a qt. other places. I have always wondered how close is a Dex 6 to DW-1 ? The Aisin may be rebottled DW-1. Maybe your question would be better answered over BITOG.

I found a thread on this on BITOG. They don't know either. Bottle says OEM Engineered Formula. I'd guess they used the same formula as Hondas'?

I would use it - AISIN DW-1, but I am one of the few that has never used a Honda branded fluid in any of the Hondas I have owned. Think I will send some to my nephew for their 06 Accord, if I could get the same price on DW-1 as t-rd does ($5.79 qt.) then I would buy it from the dealer. Last time I checked my dealer wanted $10 a bottle. Thanks for posting the BITOG link.

At that price chris918 can afford to change his ATF every 5,000 miles now.

Comes out looking brand new.. don't care.

Easy to keep track of and hasn't failed me yet.
