There should be a separate manual for body repair so likely won't be in there.

The front fender typically has a bolt or two next to the headlights (should be accessible from the wheel well with the lining removed, 4-5 bolts in the engine compartment (under the plastic trim), One on top of the door edge (must open the door the access) and two more on the bottom of the door edge (one will need to have the lower door sill removed for access), not to mention a few plastic clips for the wheel lining. It should take about 30-60 minutes to remove all the pieces if you've never done it before.

How bad was the hit? If it was bad enough and at just the right place, you might now be able to fit the new fender properly. Pics of the accident would help us here.

thanks! the accident wasn't that bad... the fender was a little crunched but thats it... also the driver mirror's base broke and now we are trying to find the base but no one sell's it separate from the mirror.

the "inner" fender...

NOTE: Take care not to scratch the body.

Remove the front inner fender (A).

-1 On the back of the wheel arch, remove the screws (B). If equipped, remove the front splash guard (C).
-2 From under the front bumper (D), remove the bolts (E) securing the front bumper, splash shield (F), and front inner fender, and remove the clip (G) securing the front bumper and front inner fender.
-3 From the wheel arch, remove the clips (H, I) securing the front inner fender (and splash shield) to the body.
-4 Release the hook (J) of the splash shield, then remove the front inner fender.

Install the inner fender in the reverse order of removal, and check the clips for damage or stress-whitening, and replace them with new ones.

I'm still looking for the "skin" part....

Unfortunately, Honda doesn't sell the side mirrors as parts. Only as a complete piece. Perhaps you could try a junkyard.

I found a diagram of where & what size bolts you'll find.

I think maybe I don't have access to the manual for body parts. What I have tells where the welds are from the factory & how to put new ones if there's an accident, but not how to remove or replace the parts. I guess they figure those kinds of techs would either know how or maybe there wouldn't be enough left to worry about how it comes apart!

My mirror got a scrape & he looked up his cost on replacing the whole thing, about 120. That's not too bad... I expected more since it's something that legally you HAVE to have.... usually when it's in that catagory there's a super stupidly high price attached!! This is more "let's look into used first" price (if it's broken).

I've opted to not replace mine, for now.

I helped replace the fender on out old '82....(teenage daughter crunched it 3 or 4 times) It wasn't hard. after it's all unbolted you push it back, then forward, if I'm remembering right.... We also had the bumper off.
