i agree that the 8th gen should be the winner.

more torque, more horse power. the only thing that should keep it from winning would be a crappy driver, lol.

+1

keep in mind the 8th gen 6mt has a slightly modified version of the 8th gen v6 automatic. remember, the 7th gen 6mt is probably barely pushing 200whp whereas the 8th gen 6mt is probably ~240whp

It'll be a close race but the 8th Gen will win. About 0-40 should be neck and neck but after that the 8th should slowly pull away. If I'm right that j35 has performance oriented Vtec while the 7th Gen is economy Vtec. Please correct me if I'm wrong.

You know, I always thought the 8G coupe would destroy a 7G, with the extra 30 hp, but after lookin at it... they are about even. Same 1/4 mile times... This might actually be a really close race.

A 7th gen 6MT is putting down around 215 - 220whp stock. My stock auto put down 198WHP. You are right with the 8th gen 6MT. 239WHP is what I saw on VTEC.net

With equal drivers the 8th Gen 6MT will win. Best time recorded stock is a

Best time for a 7th gen 6MT is that I have heard of.

8th Gen 6MT is 3470lbs curb weight
7th gen 6MT Coupe is 3265lbs 3320lbs for the sedan 6MT

1st and 2nd gear will be neck and neck. The 8th gen will pull the victory up top in 3rd and 4th gear.

One thing I forgot to add is the J30 6MT is putting down 190ish WTQ vs the J35Z 6MT putting down 221ish WTQ.

The 7th gen J30A4/A5 has a more performance oriented VTEC then the 8th gen J35Z. It is a 3 rocker system. They are both Performance VTEC though. The J30A1 was economy VTEC.

I always thought the J35z was more performance oriented. With that engine, the new 8G 6MT coupe makes less MPG. I easily get 31-36MPG on hwy in my j30a5 6MT

Yes and yes......

(I easily get 31 Interstate MPG; 36 MPG: not so easy).

Bottom line is the GenVII 6M is a freeway star: 6th gear, 2200 RPM provides potential for Really Outstanding Fuel Numbers.................
