If your car came with nice OEM wheels, would you still buy "rims"?

Everytime I purchase a vehicle I always make it a point to get a feature I did not have on my previous ride. My last ride had ok wheels and and an ok radio so my next ride had to have a really nice set of wheels and a really good radio. Long story short I bought aftermarket rims for my old ride bc I hated my oems, and was annoyed the other model of the car I got had the better wheels ...

The point of this thread for those who have to purchase rims is would you be less likely to if your car came with a very nice set of oems?

Si si I didn't buy a new set of wheels for 2 years because I liked the OEMs, but you know how it is with a group of car fanatics..."Why are you rocking 16s? GO BIGGER!"

I liked my 16s but now I'm on my 17s which I also love...all OEM love. lol

I like the OEMs. I wish that they were in better shape- the previous owner rashed a couple of them pretty badly. If I had the cash I might consider a different set of OEM or Acura rims and use the ones I have for some snow tires.

My OEM rims are very nice, However I wanted to look a little different-
Buying rims for me may go back to my youth, I usually bought rims because
my first few cars, and one pick-up came with steel wheels and mini hub caps.
Also I wanted to have a polished lip

I really love the OEM 18's that are on my Accord coupe... but I'd still definitely get rims. It's all a matter of preference, but if you have the money I say go for it for the different/improved look and in some cases performance benefit. It's a little easier on an Accord... there's a lot of those guys who buy exotic sports cars which already stand out of the pack, and they buy rims... so if you have the money... why not!?!

If you like your OEM set-up and are happy tho... that's always a win win.

It's all in the eye of the beholder. For instance IMO the 07-08 Tl-s wheels are nice but the TL-s owners still buy different rims and sell their old ones. And then all the rest of us buy up their rims like crazy.

I'd probably be satisfied for some amount of time but I'd probably still end up getting a decent aftermarket set just for variety.

I like my OEMs so no plan to change them. They are somewhat unique (vs. other Accord OEM rims) in that only the 02 SE's had them.

I HATED the OEM steelies + plastic covers fitted to my '02. Ditto for my trusty '86. Had the "LX" model come with decent-looking alloys, I seriously doubt I would have changed anything.

If you're buying a car that isn't luxury, you're not going to get nice OEM wheels. I do, however, like most of the wheels that BMW offer in their Sport Packages. E39 5 series for example.

Here are just some OEM's I love and would look for if i were in the market for that particular car/suv/truck ....

2007 BMW 330i Sedan

2001 VW GTI 1.8T (these are the wheels i wanted so bad on my VR6)

2008/2009 Jeep SRT-8

2008 Dodge Ram SRT-10

2009 Chevy Avalanche LTZ 20"

And Finally my OEM wheels (don't have my pics with me,) Honestly think they are the best looking OEM when shined up for the Accord out there!

Surprisingly, I really like how the OEM 18's look on the 8th Gen's - Especially when lowered.

BUT, as the thread askes - I would buy new wheels regardless and already did. LOL

You mean HFP?

I like my OEM rims enough that I haven't actually went through with changing them. I really like the TL-S rims that are coincidentally the stock rims of GuidoCoupe's car (06-07, 6-6), but never found them for a good enough price to warrant buying new tires too. Now I have new tires on my oems so, no need to change at this point!
