How hard do you drive your Accord?

What's your driving style like? Are you a road warrior or an off-ramp pro? Do you like to take it easy on your baby and avoid any extra wear and tear? Are you somewhere in between?

I have another 100 miles or so till i pass 600 miles. I will get on it some then but i do not expect stellar performance from an I4, but I might be surprised.

And gas is like 3.50 a gal here so that kinda of crap will be short lived anyway, not to mention I do not need to be burning fuel like that.

I am lucky as i have about 15 miles round trip driving to work. In fact I ride my bicycle sometimes.

I'm pretty hard on acceleration and braking.

I also like taking my turns rather quickly !

I like hearing the engine work! It's a gas mileage killer though!

the only time where i drive aggressive is if someone cuts me off, or is going under the limit on the highway for no reason.....

in fact, today, at 70mph, dropped into 3rd.....

at least my car now has a reason to burn oil.....

I'd say I drive my Accord fairly aggressively, but not always.

With the '88, in reality, you're not going anywhere too fast, but with the '92, I tend to get frisky!

Nothing like rowing the gear box, but as Accordlover said, the gas mileage suffers...

Way back in September, I decided to see how low I could get my gas mileage down to...I hit just under 14 mpg, with my I4!

I pamper engines. Every once in a while (and I do mean a while) I'll get on it a little to stretch it's legs on an onramp. I haven't yet run it at wide open throttle. If I need to punch it, I will... but so far I have not been in a situation where I've needed to do so.

I'm like ItsaHonda. My I4 is pampered too and frequently driven grandmotherly-style. I think it's prolonging the life of my dealer-serviced engine, which has 50K on it now. Frequent intervals for the oil/brake/trans/coolant fluids give me additional peace-of-mind. Coasting to red lights rather than speeding-and-hard braking.

"frequently driven grandmotherly-style"

Um, it's the "grandPAs driving slow! Not the "grandMAs"!!

I don't usually drive fast....there's traffic to contend with.... I just use the pedals. It all depends on the mood & conditions. I've had as low as 13 mpg for quite a bit of the tank.

You know that first wonderfully warm sunny day after the cold weather seems over? That mid morning run.... moonroof open or/and windows down, the tunes up....feeling one with the car..... THOSE days I just can't behave!

My car is well maintained. I just enjoy kickin' in the afterburners!

I too keep up on maintennace. I see no issue with driving a Honda motor like you stole it on a day to day basis. They're made for high revs and perform best when pushed to their limits.

The person who owned our old 95 Accord before us said she approached redline daily since it had 12 miles on it. She sold it to us with 245k miles and it ran better than my 96 with less miles. That's saying something about Honda durability.

I feel like the car is much more responsive when it's driven in a spirited manner regularly. - But maybe I'm wrong?

I drive my cars hard.

That's why I own them.

I take maintenance very seriously, though.

Do 3 speeding tickets doing 60 in a 30, 86 in a 50 and 90 in a 65 count or how about learning where governor decides to limit the car.
