Surprise! Accord makes Car and Driver's 10 Best!

Again. Looks like Honda will have a hit on its hands. Good because Mazda and Toyota are catching up.

A surprise, but not really. First sentence of the review:

"After the car’s record 31 previous appearances on our 10Best Cars list..."
They've only been doing 10Best lists for the past ~35 years.

$0.

And I am happy to see the Corvette, the Cayman, and the Miata on this list. Three amigos made for autocross. I've spent long afternoons doing laps in these cars and the engineering is top shelf.

The Corvette engineers actually take the time to show you how they designed it to be easy to work on- no hidden sensors or complicated write-ups to do simple procedures such as maintenance. You don't read about that in reviews- but the engineers do it anyway.

Yay! I want to get one of the new(for now..) 7 speed manual vettes one day. I could pull down 35 mpg in that thing all day long.

Oh boy. Who buys a Vette for mileage? Maybe a Tesla instead?

Really, you think Toyota is catching up. The 2018 Accord thoroughly outperformed the 2018 Camry in almost all C&D metrics and the refreshed Mazda isn't out yet but requires 93 grade premium fuel to maximize it's top engine, which isn't always available. Sounds like the Accord has at the very least widened the gap even farther.

From MotorTrend... 2018 Toyota Camry XSE V-6 vs. 2018 Honda Accord Touring 2.0T Comparison

Once again, it’s a clear win for the Accord. It’s quicker, handles better, and is more enjoyable to drive fast. It also rides better and costs less for more stuff, and you can even get it with a manual transmission.

Actually, it's very interesting to know why Vette can do this kind of gas mileage on highways. The damn thing is torquey enough just basically just idle to keep cruising speed. That's impressive.

As for a Tesla... I mean, if you want something that's pretty much only good at going in straight lines, knock yourself out.

See you at the twisty turns and corners.

Good for Accord. Reading DA everyday, we see a lot of problems and dislikes. Great to get (mostly) unbiased reviews from these people at C&D. Beats the trou off CP.

I think with around 4,000 pounds and 0-60 in 4.8 seconds, the TM3 will do okay, especially the AWD LR version.

The only issues I have would be the 1) initial quality (taken care of by the warranty) and 2) the potential high repair cost after the extended warranty is up because with a Tesla, you can't pick up a battery or drive unit at the scrap yard and install it in your car. The car will reject those frankenstein parts.

I was being sarcastic about being chosen, I'm well aware, as I thought everyone here, that the Accord owns the record for most 10 Best awards at CD, by a wide margin! Still with every new gen, you never know, like what happened with BMWs. Used to be CD picked them as often as the Accord.
