Okay, I managed to pry open the back cover of the fob (the part with the Honda "H" logo). I had to cut away at some of the plastic in order to take it off. I don't understand why this screw is on so damn tight. Does this thing have to be torque down or something damn? I look in the Honda eStore for a replacement part and I can't just order that one back over. It costs $3.43 and the screw itself costs $1.75 (wow!). I'll call the local Honda dealership tomorrow and have them order those two things. Oh and there doesn't seem to be any apparent water damage to the internal keyless entry mechanism. I thought that under the fob cover there would be exposed circuitry but there is a separate piece that holds the battery and is sealed to prevent water from entering. Pretty nifty. Just another testament of great Honda ingenuity. Thanks everyone. I'm glad I managed to work this out. I didn't want to end up paying $100+ for a replacement key.
