So my brother has to get a new car as his old one is done for. He was looking at the new Accord as an option along with the new Camry but does not want a first year model which got me to thinking, what other car should he consider? He doesn't want to go to an Audi etc. What should he look at coming from a V6 that has good reliability and power?

This is the Accord forum, and I am also kinda a Honda guy, if you want the good reliability, go with Honda.

Toyota Camry will be also a good choice, just test the both cars out and get the one he likes

No he doesn't, which means he WANTS a new car. Since that is the case, let him decide what he wants while he still has the freedom and liberty in this country to do so.

How about an Opel? If you are in Mozambique.....

If you are in China, how about a Cherry or Lambroghini?

Actually, now you can. I've seen new Buicks with the Opel emblem. Miss seeing Opels on the road...

OP: You're asking a question on a Honda Accord forum. Guess the answers you'll get? Does your brother need a brand new car?

He HAS to get a new car to which I mean a replacement for his old one and yes he would prefer new though he is open to suggestions. Would prefer new due to better finance rates and warranty. He asked me to help him which is why I asked. So I am using my Liberty and freedom to ask people for their opinions so that I can help him out.

Would prefer new. I'm wondering what people in this forum would get if they couldn't get the Accord which is very reliable... That's why I'm asking. Personally I have an Accord. I can't think of other options aside from a Camry... But first year models are risky.

He needs to replace his now dead old car as he needs it to drive to work each day. The 2017 Accord V6 might be a good option.

The V6 Accord is a real nice car, and goes good too.
Test drive and see what he likes.

I don't suppose they still make Opel Manta?
No recollection of what possessed me way back when to buy that purple sh!!box, as my mechanic friend called it (he was right).

OP: If your brother wants a 2018 MY and a V6 engine, just jump the ship to the Acura TLX.... deal done! Unless, if your brother wants to go CPO, then he can either get an E-Class for the price of an Accord EX with a great warranty (5 years/ unlimited miles) or an Accord Touring V6.

I'd be looking at a 2015 Cadillac CTS with the 3.6L V6 (e.g. ). I'm not a big Cadillac fan, but owners of this car have had very good things to say about it. CTS-V is way too much power IMHO. 2016 marked the start of the third generation.

Accord or Camry would be the only 2 that I would consider. Audis are great but they arent reliable and are very expensive when they need repairs.
