Ive read on some forums that John Deer shops carry them. I've also seen them on ebay, one guy that regularly distributes them from the UK. I could be wrong though, I looked into those bulbs a little while ago. If you find a pair let me know how they are.

Good morning btw,

I think the 9011 are the hi's and the 9012's are the lows? Im not really sure. Its been a while since I last looked into them. I conviced myself into getting HID's, but then conviced myself out of the HID's kits and into the silverstars. So far so good, but I'm sure they go in another few months.

HIR's come in 2 flavors

9011 (HIR 1) - These are meant to be used in a high beam application and emit 2350 lumens at a very slightly higher color temp (3600k) vs. 9005's which emit 1700 lumens at (3250k). With a slight mod to one of the tabs (top one if I remember right), the base will fit seamlessly into the 9005's (HB3) high beam housing and have the same focal point. Both applications are 65 watts.

9012 (HIR 2) - Similarly, these were designed as a replacement for the 9006 (HB4) low beams with similar color temps as the 9006 and a light output of 1875 lumens vs. 1000 lumens in the 9006. Both applications are 55 watts.

Part # for low beams John Deere - 1-AH211917 (on back order last I checked and not cheap anymore!)

Part # for high beams - 15094219 (these come factory in the Avalanches)

Or go to and get em' both. Hope this clears up any confusion. Good Luck

Looks like turBeau pretty much covered it! I can understand that not everyone wants to buy them online. I did get mine from finemotoring.com and they were prompt and properly packaged. They even marked the portion of the base that needed to be removed. It only took a couple of seconds with a Dremmel. I was happy with the seller and with the results.

Don't have a Dremel? Small pair of cutters or even toe nail clippers can do the job. Of course, the dremel is much faster.

Careful...I know Dodge was using overamped halogens to get near HIR levels for the Viper a while back...not sure if GM is doing the same. If I were to get HIRs, it would be from Finemotoring or John Deere only (I was getting the lows from JD...but when they got stock they tripled the price on me )

Try use the O-rings from the OEM bulbs, they are just a bit thinner than the ones on the HIR bulb, it will likely make the difference.

And you do know there is this thread HIR bulbs installed on 08 Sedan, Steps, Impressions, and Comparison, right?

i'll have to try swapping the O-rings but didn't think much of it as others said it didn't make much of a difference; i'll try it just as well though.

regarding the other thread, i posted this same question there as well just trying to get as much feedback as possible. thanks.

That's called "double posting", it scatters the answers, we discourage people from doing that as you shouldn't do it just for your own convinence............
