Reupholster Leather

The previous owner of my 2004 Accord Coupe didn't really do an A+ job at maintaining the interior and exterior. I'm thinking of getting my 2 front bucket seats reupholstered either this year or next year. The leather is pretty badly cracked especially near the sides of the seats. The rear seats look almost 100% new, so I'll be leaving those as is. I'm guessing this is mostly because they were rarely used and the rear windows are tinted at ~35%. The front seats bug me because it looks bad and also because it is so easy to keep leather seats in great shape. You only need apply some leather cleaner and conditioner every few months. It's a cheap 5 minute job, and anyone can do it.

Anyways, does anybody have a guess at what the average cost is to get them reupholstered? There are only a couple places here that I'd trust to do the job..

In all honesty I would ask the two places you trust, not here for guesstimates.

It depends, does your car have side bags in the seat? I think some models did in 04 and some did not. If not I would just buy a katzkin interior and use one their installers - total of less than a grand. They claim to have breakaway stitching so it should be OK with side airbags, but I would not want to risk it.

otherwise check out collegehills honda parts. You can buy the skins for the car there, they are just more $$.

An after-market leather-kit for a late-model Accord costs $550-$650 (covers front/rear seats & head-rests, armrests, and door-panels in matching color).

Professional installation can vary from location to location.

For reference...

I paid $1099/installed for a complete Katzkin 'Dark Graphite' leather interior for an '08 Accord sedan. It came w/ a 5-year warranty.

I got an estimate on my 06 sedan at classicsofttrim, which I think is a bit nicer than the katzkin stuff. They wanted $1170 out the door (leather, labor, and all taxes). Probably 400-500 cheaper if you're only doing the front seats.
