Yes, that is amazingly easy. I also have a Pilot, and just finished the a/c filter change. I am a total clod at do-it-yourself projects, but that one was a breeze. Took 30 - 40 minutes, tops, and next time it will be about 15 minutes. Saved about $60, and i actually had fun doing it!

Thanks for the great information. I looked at a tech's book of directions and it appeared that a Doctorate Degree was required to change the filter! If it's as simple as it appears I'll be tickled.

From previous experience I change mine between 10&12K. On my previous car the filter was just plain nasty 11K.

Pulled out mine yesterday. Wow, that thing was NASTY. Lots of leaves and black with soot from our clean new york air. Gonna check the dealer tomorrow to see if I can get a filter from them and replace it myself.

Smile Insanely easy!!

Folks,

I just replaced mine today. All I can say is, "Sheesh, why didn't I do this six months ago?!?"

Really, just squeeze in the sides of the glove compartment box, pop it out and let it hang down, then squeeze the tabs holding the filter holder in place, and pull it out. Not even a five-minute operation!

I got my filter from the local Honda dealer for $20.23, which I didn't think was too bad -- I was expecting it to be well over $30. I hadn't done a really exhaustive search, but the auto supply places I looked for a filter before didn't have them at all. So, again, it wasn't too bad.

And, here's the result:

This was after about 10,700 miles. I'll probably do it every 5,000 miles from here on -- why not?
