Tire Pressure? What are you keeping tires at?

I know that Honda says 32PSi for F and R tires, but i find that sort of low.
Question 1, shouldn't the tire manufacturer (Michelin in this case) dictate the PSI?

I've always been a 35 or 37 PSI person (keeping it at a little higher PSi for better MPG).

Your thoughts?

Also - the TPMS, what does the PSI have to reach to trip that? 30? 28? lower?

Thanks!
Andy

I put mine at 33 front 32 rear. never really had a problem and gotten consistent gas mileage. Not sure on the TPMS as I don't have it on mine.

I like running them around 40 psi. I just feel that the steering response is quicker.

On the W2B's car, the TPMS came on shortly after we got her car. If memory serves me correct ..... they were around 28 psi.

I think the TPMS light supposed to come on -20% loss air (24-25psi approx).
When I got mine LX which is suppose to be 30 psi after a week i checked it and all tries were around 27-27.5 (no light).
I set them at 34 or so. 5 psi over spec is pretty safe just check wear if you push to much over it.

I run mine around 35 and will probably increase it the next time I get my compressor out. My tires were wearing very unevenly with the factory recommended PSI. The rubber on the outside edges was very worn but the center was like new.

I run mine at the factory recommended PSI. My TPS came on once and when I checked my tire pressure(s) I found ONE tire at 28 PSI. I'm guessing that must be the "lower limit". I know on my Corvette the LOW TIRE PRESSUE message comes on at 24 PSI and the HIGH TIRE PRESSURE message comes on at 42 PSI. Recommnened PSI is 30. So I'd assume the TPMS light on the Honda could come on if/when the PSI exceeds 42 PSI.

I have a 7th gen and run 40 psi for over a year and havent had any uneven wear on the stock tires. I switched to tripletreads in october and use the same pressure. So far no uneven wear on them either but I expect it to take longer for something like that to develop.

Rule of thumb is to start with 3-5 psi above the recommended (door jamb) cold inflation pressure.
