Good 19 inch Tire Size for HFP Wheels

Hello! Could I get some assistance on what tire sizes you recommend for the HFP wheels on V6 Sedan? I've been doing some research to see the difference with my 17" stock ones.

I'm thinking 255/40 should be ok? I want to have some sidewall still for ride comfort. I'm trying to get the best of comfort and style haha.

Thanks!

I went with 245/40R19 with my HFP's. Perfect size to fill the wheel gap in a little bit.

Honestly I would say it is just a tad bitter rougher. I almost traded the car in a few weeks ago so I swapped back the 17" and I really didn't feel that big of a difference. Don't get me wrong you will feel more on them since there is less sidewall but to me it was tolerable.(and I'm pretty picky about ride quality)

245/40/19 won't be that noticeable honestly. The amount of road feel you'll gain in turns, etc will likely make you grin more than the SLIGHT harshness of a big bump compared to the 17's

Running for a few months now, 19" HFP Diamond Cut Alloy Wheels,08W19-T3L-100 with Continental ContiProContact Radial Tires - 255/40R19 100V in my Touring. After a few days driving, the noise levels are a lot lot less than I expected Could be the noise reduction from the HK system, very happy and car looks a lot better

Hi LeFreak,

First of all nice set up. I like it. secondly, I have few question to see if you can help me..

1) I assume that you haven't lowered your car yet?
2) Like you said you are not having any issue - Have you notice if there any tire rubbing? because when i plug the 17 and your 19 inch tire information to this site it show me concern about fender and wheelwell clearance thoughts? -
3) How would you rate your ride compare to 17"?

The reason why I am asking is to, i am planning to do same and i wanted to make sure that before i spend money for wheels/tires i understood correctly.

Thanks in advanced for your help.

I have the HFP 19x8 wheels as well and wanted to go with 255s also because I wanted the larger cross section and slightly increased sidewall for ride comfort and gap fill. After researching on TireRack, I noticed that the 255/40s all recommended a minimal rim width of 8.5 or 9. I ended up going with the 245/40/19s because I was fearful of a squirmy feeling by putting 255/40s on a smaller than recommended rim width.

It would probably drive fine and clear the fenders with no problem but not sure how it would feel in a panic maneuver. You may want to do your own comparisons to check for minimal rim width.

Something to consider.

The sidewalk difference between a 255/40 and a 245/40 is only 4 mm. Not enough for you to actually feel the difference.

With my 245's, I have a noticeable decrease in fuel economy (wider tires = more rolling resistance). The 255 should be a little heavier, and have a little more rolling resistance.
