New V6

It may be years away but we all know that the current J35 is long in the tooth. I'll never buy a Honda with a CVT again and if I am forced to buy a Turbo, I will just bypass the 2.0T and hope that this bad boy will be offered in turbo and non turbo form. Hopefully it won't require some sort of battery assist to get it. At least there appears to be a newer V6 on the horizon, sweet.

Maybe for the Pilot & Ody. Sales of the 2.0 will determine if they go back to the V6 in the Accord.

Doubtful if it could make its way to the Accord (too big to fit into a Civic chassis) but it is good to know that Honda does have something in store other than small displacement turbos and hybrids.

Was it the 5th gen where Honda made chassis mods mid cycle to accommodate the 2.7 v6? "Doubtful" as you said. But certainly not impossible

IIRC, they needed a new hood and fenders. For this Accord (10th gen) I think that's how they got all that extra legroom in the rear by moving the engine forward knowing that there would be no room for a V6. I'm ok with this if they save it for Acura or the SUV's as the Accord is too low for me anyway. This is why the Ridgeline has more interior room compared to the Colorado even though the Colorado is longer. The transverse mount of the RL makes for a shorter engine compartment thus freeing up more room for the bed and interior as opposed to the Colorado which uses a longitudional mount.

Acura Twin Turbo V6... Revision of the Type-S Models... ?

[If this has been already posted or in the wrong section, admin., please delete post.]

So, we all know that Acura has fallen behind in their market segment. They're more like Lincoln as opposed to other higher tier brands. Over the last 6 years, Acura's approach to performance on cars has been, basically, the same J-series engines (namely the J-35 with minor modifications) with horsepower ratings peaking around 305 horsepower. Acura's highest premium versions have consisted of adding electrical motors that overall have added a lot of weight (the latest RDX tippid the scales over 4400lbs). Overall, the J-series is a competent NA great engine and it does compete against similar sized engines that are DOHC, like Toyota's GR V6 engines. However, with the craze of today's turbocharging, twin turbo V6 have been adopted by the likes of BMW, MB, Infiniti, Ford, Lexus, and of course nothing from Acura. Personally, I've felt based on Acura's past, they were going to double down by replacing the J-35 with the new 2.0 turbo I4 along with electrical motors. Kia has recently adopted a twin turbo sporty sedan, The Stinger, from initial reviews walks all over the TLX, including the A-spec (Kia, of all automakers, may be beating Acura at their own game). Well, it seems that Honda is in the works of producing a twin turbo V6 for Acura.

On another note, Acura is reintroducing the Type-S line, as well. With the new designs language scene on the 2019 Acura RDX prototype (I can't find the link but the new RDX is designed by the same individual who was responsible for the 3rd generation TL), Acura may be going back to its roots of producing high horsepower/Liter engines with modest designs and a splash of sporty flavor.

The most beautiful car ever made by Honda (personal preference, gentlemen)

Yep, I also heard about the Turbocharged V6... That's the engine I have been waiting for from Honda, as the 4 banger doesn't cut it for me anymore. Thank god someone in the Honda/Acura executive department woke up and understood the amount of (INSERT WORD(S) HERE) that they are currently in.

Don't quote me on it but I'm pretty sure the Accord and Civic already share the same platform. Like the Accord sits on a stretched Civic chassis. So...yeah. If they're designing a new V6, my idea of the "Honda Envoi" lives! (RWD V6 offering to replace the Prelude)
