Yep...and the difference is that slight blue tint on the Silver Stars that is not on the HIRs. That is why the HIRs have a higher lumen output than the SIlver Stars.

Or, if you really want to light up the night go for a real HID retrofit (not a plug and play kit). But, since you have the HIRs, use them

Use the bulb grease. I've heard that's why bulbs out of the factory can go so long.

The stocks are ok. I ran a pair of HIRs for 3 years, about the same life span of my stockers. Then one day one of the HIR bulbs blew out. I placed a stock bulb back in then I immediately saw a difference in light output. So I bought another set of HIR bulbs and will never go back to 9006.

Silverstars are crap. Blew a set within 6 months, waste of money and overpriced.

Silverstars and HIR bulbs do put out more light than stock. I do agree that Silverstars have a much shorter life than a stock bulb. On average they've lasted about 12-18 months for me. I just put a set of HIR's in my daughter's Accord and she says it's much better than the stock bulbs. We'll see how long they last.
