Need new battery

I need a new battery on my Accord but I can't decide on Duralast Gold (AutoZone), Bosch Premium Battery (Pep Boys) or the OEM battery from the dealership. Any suggestions? Thanks!

Interstate batteries I would recommend if you can get them. If not just go for the duralast

SEARCH "battery" here in the 7th gen. It's been discussed almost as much as intakes. Do yourself a favor and upgrade to the v6 sized battery.

Which battery costs less? Do you put special demands on your battery (really cold weather, big stereo, etc.)? I get them from walmart for my 2004 accord I4/5AT EX-L and they last well and work fine. The OEM battery lasted 4-1/2 years, and the first walmart battery lasted almost 5 years. I'm now on my second walmart battery. car has 217,000 miles and starts/runs just fine with the small I4 battery. Bigger batteries are fine but I don't like to spend money unless it's really needed. Good luck...

I have two Duralast Gold batteries right now, and they are working just fine. The last replacement, from Sam's club (Energizer) didn't last very long, but it was cheap.

Is your Accord a V6 or I4 model? If it's an I4 model you can go to a little bit bigger battery (the same size the V6 would have). I bought an interstate that would be for the V6 and put in my 2005 4 cylinder. I had to remove the plastic shrouding to make room for the bigger battery. If I remember right, the battery I bought was actually a few bucks cheaper then was was suppose to go in the car. I'm guessing it was a more common size?

I'm on my 4th battery as of yesterday on my 06 Accord V6. Every two years i get a new battery from them since they don't seem to last more than 2 full winters. Out of 4, only paid for 1, others were under warranty.

next one i'll have to pay for so not going back to honda given the history

Almost all your batteries are made by one of 3 major battery manufacturers and are private labeled. I believe the Honda battery is made by Johnson Controls as is the Energizer battery. Same product, different label. If you want a battery to last, buy an AGM type flat plate battery. They typically last 2 to 3 times longer than your average wet cell battery. The Sears Platinum is an example of an AGM flat plate battery. Otherwise wet cell batteries are pretty much all the same and thinking one is better than another is usually a state of mind.
