well im sure someone will chime in that knows more but, I think all the leds might be soldered onto a board and to replace an LED you might have to take the tail light apart de-solder that dead led and solder in a new one.... :-(

Unfortunately, the easiest route is most likely to replace the whole LED lamp assembly...well, IMHO...

Yeah if a couple LEDs go out you can either take the time to take the front lens off and re-solder new LEDs or just buy a new assembly. According to the LED unit alone is $103 whereas a completely new assembly is $107

Whoa...4 $ difference. well if you can live with it...then leave it and save yourself $. But if you can't just de-solder the led from the board. Then it is a no brainier to just get a whole new tail lamp. If it were me, I would try and de-solder the led some how worst case senario is you mess it up and the led board stops working completely and you will have to buy a new one anyways. Don't wanna give you bad advice just saying if it were me thats what I would do.

The LED unit is separate from the assembly. The entire LED module/board screws into the assembly, so ordering a new assembly would be useless. You would need the LED unit for it. You would need to remove your bumper and some of your trunk lining to remove the tail light to access the LED unit. Sorry to hear, totally sucks dude.

I remember reading somewhere (I think on EliteCM) that the LEDS in the wind spoilers are covered by honda because you cant really replace them, and if one blows you just take it back to them.

IDK what sort of time frame there was on this or anything, but maybe you should ask a dealership?

Latest mod: 35W 3000K Fogs.

They also get you by raping you price wise. That way when you walk away, you have to waddle

how do i open up the taillight to access to LEDs? I know how to remove the bumper, but does the taillight open with screws or does it need to be baked?

It would need to be baked. Instructions would be similar to taking the lens off of the headlights, just find a DIY for a retro like LFSoccer has in his sig to find out how

x.X i was hoping it'd be an easy fix...its only 3 LEDs out of like 20+, I guess its not worth the effort to fix it...until more burn out(knock on wood)

if it's only 3 died out of 20, i think you rather leave it alone and save $103. I didnt know that LED bulbs life was that short. I worked on airplanes that have all lavatories light bulbs replaced by LED and they last almost forever(30,000hours +).

:werd: only car I've seen with this problem is an Azera. There are 2003 G35s that still have OEM LEDs that work fine.
