Battery for Main Key Remote....?

Sup Everyone,

Does anyone know the battery size for the main key Remote? For some reason it isnt opening the doors or trunk. The light turns on when i hit any of the buttons but it looks dim. I think i may need to replace the battery.

Thanks

I am pretty sure it is CR2032. I bought 10 of them off of eBay recently for like $4.

the light is supposed to be really dim. however changing the battery MAY still solve your problem.

That little screw on the remote is held in place with loctite very TIGHTLY. The head of the screw is VERY easily stripped and rounded off --- real problem. I would let the dealer do it just for that reason. The dealer told me they strip some themselves.
New remotes are not cheap.

Hope those CR2032 batteries have other uses because the remote uses a CR1616

You are right it is CR1616. As for the little screw... You can purchase them from your local Honda dealer...

I have seen on other site where the CR2032 will also work....

I don't see how. The CR2032 is twice as thick and 25% wider. It won't fit in the battery holder.

My spare remote's screw is ruined-it is rounded now off (stripped) and won't move. Anybody have any ideas how to remove the rounded off screw to obtain access to the battery???????????????

The screw has a Phillips #0 head. I removed the screw very easily with the correct size drive. My battery is also a CR1616.

cnisenbaum - I thought you were going to let the dealer remove the screw for you.

FWIW, a little trick I use when I first encounter any kind of resistence with these small screws is to use a soldering iron tip to warm up the screw head and let the heat carry itself into the threaded portion, this will soften the loc-tite allowing the screw to turn easily, works every time.
