Where can I get OEM painted bumper covers?

Some jackoff bumped my bumper and left 3 nicks gauging into the paint...looks like screw heads from a license plate. It bothers me that much that I want to buy a new bumper cover.

Anyone know where I can buy covers painted from the factory? I'd rather not have a shop spray it - the paint is usually softer and chips much easier.

I'm not sure this was ever available, but even if it was, it is no longer.

I recently went through this exercise, and found that the only bumper cover the dealership sells now are bare black unpainted versions..........

I bought one off of eBay. New & painted. Looks good and it was under $200.

I bought a painted bumper off of ebay as well and it didn't fit well. Luckily the seller refunded my money. If you're going with an aftermarket bumper (most of the stuff you see on ebay) it's a complete crap shoot.

The ebay seller listed above is selling bumpers made by Keystone which is an aftermarket (non oem ) part. As an ex-body repairman I would NEVER put an aftermarket bumper on my Honda. They never fit properly and the material does not even seem to be the same.

They don't exist painted from the factory. A new OEM bumper cover is not painted. If you have experienced bumpers that chip easily in the past, that is because the body shop did a lousy job.

My rear bumper cover has been overhauled twice to repair damage from accidents and the shop I use know what they are doing, and they don't half-ass the job. The bumper has the original Honda paint, not a color match, and it was properly overhauled, painted, and clear-coated. If the scratches are not too deep, a good reputable shop can overhaul the bumper cover without the expense of a new OEM cover. Your local Honda dealer should be able to recommend a good shop, one that they use to repair the cars that get damaged on their lot.

i got the ebay bumper i am fine with it you just have to know how to adjust it right with your lights that was my biggest problem but my car was hit from the front end so the frame will never be the same the only reason i did get mine was because my old bumper had pretty much gunshot from freeway rocks way too much to patch and the holes for the bumper clips from the bottom ripped ... but ya if you do take it to body shop you might end up paying less than buying a new one ... just look around ask around in your neighborhood ... i am getting both my front fenders and my side skirts painted for 300 dollars thats because the guy knows my boss everyone else told me 700 to 900 for the same job ... my friends uncle does body work hes amazing but he charges too much he works mainly on high end cars and hes too picky hell tell you to paint the whole car over because he notices the difference between your bumper and your hood

see my DIY on this topic. the bumper I put on was a Keystone, and I was just commenting (and receiving compliments) yesterday at a family event as we looked at the car sitting in the blazing sun about how it's literally impossible to tell that my front bumper is not original. I had NO fit issues, and it's held up perfectly, with no more chipping than the original got. YMMV.

Sorry to revive an older thread like this, but I'm in a similar situation.

My car is leased and will need to go back to Honda in July. A few months ago, I tapped a snow pile that had turned to ice and although it didn't damage the paint, it did leave a nice crack, about 4" wide, just beneath the driver's side fog light.

I was thinking about trying to patch it from behind, but I'm not sure how I'll clamp the crack to hold it closed long enough for the epoxy to set. Of course, my other options are to either replace the bumper cover (I'm pretty handy and fairly certain I can do this myself) or hope and pray that Honda doesn't ding me too badly when they do their turn-in inspection.

I'd appreciate any thoughts or wisdom you might have on the topic.

Call a bunch of used car dealers and see if they recommend any mobile paint repair places. Usually the dealers hire them to fix bumpers on their cars for sale.

There should be a high allowance to fix things like this in your lease. Like $1k-2k. Call leasing company to check.

If worse comes to worse, go to a junk car lot and see if there is one there. I got rear-ended and the body shop paitned my new bumper but the color was off and their spray was corser than the factory paint. I asked them to match it better and they did not seem to like it but did not say. They got it right, although I think they got it from another car whcih is fine by me!

The reason I think that they took it from another car is because the paint color, thickness and spray is exactly like the rest of the car. Not only that, I dropped the car off at 10AM and it was done by 3PM. I do not think that they can paint a new bumper and get it done that fast.
