Safe to buy motor mounts from rock auto?

They have a brand called Anchor for cheap, around $25.00. Then they have another brand called DEA for about double the price of the anchor. I've heard if anchor before, but not DEA. Does anyone have any experience with these brands of motor mounts? I'm curious.

There is NOTHING wrong with buying parts from Rock Auto. They are a great vendor. The problem is knowing what you are buying, just like when you walk into a Vatozone or Oh'reallys. Rock Auto doesn't make parts, anymore than Vatozone makes theirs. Buying a junk chinese double knock-off brand is something to avoid, no matter where you get your parts. Your thread should be titled "Safe to buy Anchor or DEA brand motor mounts?"

I would recommend you go OEM on the big three mounts. Transmission, you can go 3rd party.

Thanks for all the replies guys. I need the front right, and the front mounts
Rock Auto has DEA Front; Sedan; Automatic trans.; Oem Hydraulic for $48.99
and then the front right for $31.99
Then they have the Anchor front mount for $35.79 and the front right for $21.79

While Honda has the front for $92.25 and the side for $81.95.

Would it matter depending on the brand? I'm leaning towards the DEA mostly because I don't want to buy the cheapest but I would like to avoid spending OEM price. Also I know the transmission mount is different depending on manual/auto but is the engine mount the same? I just want to make sure I'm ordering the right parts.

Take it easy on those mounts. They should last a while if you baby them. Mounts last as long as the driver wants them to. Things like hard acceleration from stops is what kills them. Sometimes 3rd party mounts can induce vibrations which is why I advice against them for the engine ones.

I will admit when my mom first gave me this car I used to do that a lot, accelerate from stops. I've since stopped though. I really don't want to have to go OEM for these mounts, because I'm still gonna have to pay someone to put them on. But it sounds more and more like I'll have too.

You'll get vibrations from after market mounts only if the mounts have a high durometer rating (85A and up).

I'd go with Beck Arnley over DEA and Anchor if you're looking to save some money. But in the long run, it'll be cheaper to stick with Honda unless you don't plan to keep the car for more than 4-5 years.

Honda > Beck Arnley > DEA and Anchor

Honda > Beck Arnley > DEA and Anchor
^^ I agree. Actually, here is a fun fact. Beck Arnley usually sources their parts from the OE manufacturer. It is very common to open up a Beck Arnley box and find a genuine Honda, Kia etc... part in the bag or with OE stickers still on them.

I sell a lot of Beck Arnley and always recommend them to customers who are looking for OE quality
