3m Crystalline Front Windshield tint

I know I'm probably going to get the "search for it" (which I did) and the ... why would you tint your windshield questions but allow me to elaborate.

I'm only tinting the windshield with the smallest amount of tint possible which pointed me in the direction of the 3m Crystalline tint.

So I'm curious if anyone has already tried it and the thoughts on the install

I'm looking either into the 90% or the 70%. I got a quote for $165 installed which is pretty decent I thought.

Thanks

I have Llumar Airblue 80 and love it, but my next car will have the 3M Crystalline 90. Car interior is much cooler.

How does this work with registration and inspection stickers each year being replaced? (for those of who have them on the windshield)

Are the stickers you put on your windshield the static cling kind? If so, then it's no problem as I get those oil change reminder stickers all the time and it peels right off with no damage to the film.

Thats my issue as well. I'm curious about that. Don't think its static more sticker option.

I convert the glue type stickers to static type all the time. Simply stretch some saran wrap over a saucer then stick the sticker onto it and trim around the edges. A little water on the saran wrapped side and it sticks fine, but is removable.

Dood idea with the saran wrap. otherwise you need a razor to get it all off. Thanks NY!

Just curious of the whole process of completing this? So get a new sticker or old sticker and put saran wrap over it and then apply with a bit of water to make it stick?

DOes it matter the side of the saran wrap?

in PA they are pretty heavy duty stickers that usually need to be scraped off, not the kind of stickers you would get at an oil change place that peels right off. I talked to a guy that does tints and he told me that people get them done annually (wtf?). I think you can also probably just ask them to make a square box around where the stickers are applied so they don't affect tint. wouldn't be noticable especially if you're not going below 70%. I found another more reasonable quote for huber optik for $90.

The only other option, that I've found, to keep it extremely light combined with high heat rejection ratio is Suntek CXP. Comes in 80 & 70%.

I've gotten quotes of $800 for all 5 windows on the Accord, I don't care how good the film is, they are out of their damn minds.
