There has to be a lot of tongue-in-cheek here. Is the OP a new member? Just someone trying to increase the volume of talk on the forum?

I guess it's time to break out the horse and buggy again...

My dad, who is retired, recently did a 30k mile service on his 2016 Subaru Outback. Guess he really hates his car...

...or maybe he just runs lots of errands and makes the occasional road trip. Retired life is busy!

You must have missed the OP's earlier "agent provocateur" thread:

Most of the time in the car I am going somewhere for some reason.
Sometimes I can have some fun with it, that's partly why I got the V6.
But if I want to go for a ride just for the Halibut, there is a Ducati or an Aprilia or that.
Either way each horse is pushing a little under 4.5 pounds of machine and man.
I'm not sure what the Accord weighs, but guessing each pony is pushing around 3 times that much.
Can you say, Eeh Hah!?

Can you stop with the Spec V bashing? A stock 4-cyl Accord 8th generation or earlier is no match for a Spec V. The Spec V is simply smaller and lighter and has better HP to weight ratio.

I like to drive 25-30k miles a year, do as little maintenance as possible, then trade them in before the lack of care catches up to me.

Then some other poor sap is like "Oh look at this 2013 Accord. It only has 67k miles on it, which is nothing for a Honda! And it's a 6 speed so super reliable!"

meanwhile they don't realize I money shifted it twice (downshifted from 6th to 2nd and mechanically overrevved it well past red line), cracked the radiator and drove it for 25k miles until it finally overheated, and did the bare minimum as far as oil changes went. Good luck getting my first Accord over 100k miles.

I saw a 2008 Accord for sale on a neighbors front lawn that a guy was selling for his 93 year old mom that just passed away. It had 21k on it and he told me "I dont even know if she ever had the oil changed, its an as is sale"
the interior was like brand new but smelled like old people. he wanted 6k or "best offer" for it.

It was gone in 2 days. I couldnt believe how fast it sold.

I just found this thread. What the heck is going here? All I can think of is one of Mark Twain’s famous quotes:

If only President Trump would sign an executive order banning these slow, ugly, and outdated 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V (2.5L 6spd-MT) or give me a grant so that I could send more tow trucks out to capture and crush these slow, ugly, and outdated 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V (2.5L 6spd-MT) cars at a wrecking yard, then I would happily drive my Accord on the road, knowing that it is safe from those ghetto Sentra SE-R Spec V cars.

If only President Trump would sign an executive order allowing decent, law-abiding Accord owners to simply fire-bomb all 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V (2.5L 6spd-MT), with owners to be captured, tased, deported, and beaten again in their new country of North Korea, then America will be great again.

Too many times, I have seen decent people sadly see a 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V (2.5L 6spd-MT) driving on the road, and of course begin vomiting as these 2002 Nissan Sentra SE-R Spec V (2.5L 6spd-MT) are so damn ugly and slow.
While true, you have to admit, the Brembo calipers on that car where overcompensating for the car's ugliness and lack of powa!

What a novel thought.

"Buy a car and don't drive it."

Wonder why I never thought of that.

Well OP I put some thought into it and I have a few ideas that can help keep the miles low

Drive in reverse as much a possible.
Tow the car on long trips.
Shut it off down hills. Keys out
Drive faster. That means less time driving. That saves miles right?
Only drive half the distance on trips. Walk the rest of the way.
